ĐBP - The Ministry of National Defence, in collaboration with the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Publicity and Education, the Ministry of Public Security, the Hồ Chí Minh National Academy of Politics, and Điện Biên Province, convened a national scientific conference on April 11 to deliberate on the role and importance of the Điện Biên Phủ Victory in the endeavour of building and safeguarding the socialist Vietnamese Fatherland.

On March 26, 1954, the Conference of the Party Committee and the Dien Bien Phu Campaign Command continued with its second working day.

Armed forces taking part in a parade to mark the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory over French colonialists held a rehearsal in Hanoi on March 22.

ĐBP - During the historic Điện Biên Phủ campaign in 1954, in addition to the 9 infantry regimens, 1 artillery regiment armed with 75mm cannons, 2 mortar battalions with 105mm mortars, and 4 heavy machine gun companies with 120mm guns, the Vietnamese troops also boasted an anti-aircraft artillery regiment with 24 37mm guns from the 367th Anti-Aircraft Artillery Regiment – the precursor unit of the present-day Việt Nam Air Force.

ĐBP- On this day 70 years ago, under a canopy of pure white orchid trees, our soldiers huddled together silently at the Him Lam outpost, waiting. At 5pm on March 13, 1954, they raised their weapons and opened fire to shake the "Steel doors" of Him Lam, or Béatrice.This was the beginning of the Điện Biên Phủ Campaign.Those same white orchid trees are once again in full bloom, adorning the entrance to the historic Him Lam site, standing proud as an ever-lasting reminder to all who visit of an heroic and illustrious moment in time.

ĐBP – Điện Biên Province must consolidate its resources to guarantee the fulfillment of projects dedicated to commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Điện Biên Phủ Victory. This directive was issued by Lê Thành Đô, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, during an inspection of various essential projects associated with the commemoration on Wednesday (February 28).

ĐBP – The Ban Flower Festival, a key event of Điện Biên Province's National Tourism Year 2024, is scheduled to commence on March 16 in Điện Biên City.
