Russia delegation visits Điện Biên’s historical sites

ĐBP – A delegation from Saint Petersburg, Russia, led by Tishhenko Pyotr Evgenievich, Chairman of the Saint Petersburg Archives Committee, paid tribute at the A1 Martyrs' Cemetery and visited several historical sites in Điện Biên Phủ City, Điện Biên Province, on Wednesday. The visit was part of the delegation's broader trip to the province, aimed at strengthening ties and honouring the historical significance of the region.

The Saint Petersburg delegation lays wreaths and offers incense in tribute to the heroic martyrs at the A1 Martyrs' Cemetery.

At the A1 Martyrs' Cemetery, the delegation laid wreaths and offered incense at the memorial and the graves of the heroic martyrs who bravely fought and sacrificed their lives for Việt Nam’s national liberation.

During their visit to the Điện Biên Phủ Historical Victory Museum, Tishhenko Pyotr Evgenievich and the delegation viewed the impressive panorama painting, which vividly recreates the entire Điện Biên Phủ Campaign. They also explored exhibits featuring nearly 1,000 documents, artifacts, images, and maps related to the historic campaign. The delegation members expressed deep emotion and admiration for the heroic efforts of the Vietnamese army and people, whose determination led to the momentous and globally significant Điện Biên Phủ Victory.
