Learning from Uncle Hồ’s noble example through stories

ĐBP - Telling stories about President Hồ Chí Minh is an activity that many schools in the province have been organizing enthusiastically, attracting active participation from children. Through stories about the life and career of the beloved leader, the children have shown their love and admiration for the great leader of the nation.

In April, the atmosphere at Bế Văn Đàn Primary School (Điện Biên Phủ city, Điện Biên province) became lively with the event “Reading Day” for students of various grades. During the program, students told stories about Uncle Hồ. The stories, filled with emotion, illustrated his moral example, his life, and revolutionary career, with rich and creative role-play, bringing to life the simple, modest images of Uncle Hồ’s life. Each story also contains lessons, aspirations, and simple but profound teachings that Uncle Hồ left for future generations.

The most impressive story was “Who is good will be rewarded,” told by Bùi Mai Phương, a fifth-grade student. Through Phương’s telling, listeners felt the immense love and care that Uncle Hồ had for the children, as well as the lesson he taught about honesty. This moving story had a profound educational meaning, making listeners feel deeply touched and encouraged to follow Uncle Hồ’s example. “I really enjoy reading and hearing stories about Uncle Hồ. Through these stories, I learn many life lessons, including Uncle Hồ’s ways of teaching and guiding,” shared Phương.

For many years, Tủa Thàng No.2 Kindergarten (Tủa Chùa district) has been maintaining the tradition of starting the week with stories about Uncle Hồ for preschool children, continuing to implement Directive No.05 of the Politburo on promoting learning and following Hồ Chí Minh’s ideology, morality, and style. It also strengthens moral education, lifestyle, and personality development for both children and school staff.

Teachers at Tủa Thàng No.2 Kindergarten (Tủa Chùa district, Điện Biên province) incorporate stories, poems, and songs about Uncle Hồ into their lessons.

Every Monday morning, teachers tell stories about Uncle Hồ, such as “Uncle Hồ Loves Children,” “Uncle Hồ’s Apple,” “The Children Are Clean and Well-behaved,” and “The Three Backpacks.” These simple stories, chosen for their appropriateness for children, help them understand more about Uncle Hồ and learn to follow his teachings in small, simple things in life, which are intended to educate their morals and character.

Trần Thị Phương, Principal of Tủa Thàng No.2 Kindergarten, shared that to make the story resonate deeply in the children’s hearts, during the lessons, teachers organize various activities to teach them about national pride and love for the country through historical video materials related to Uncle Hồ. Even though the children are still young, they understand the content of the stories, which sends a strong educational message, creating a widespread impact on both students and parents.

In recent years, teaching students to learn and follow Hồ Chí Minh’s moral example has been particularly emphasized in schools across the province. At Thanh Luông Secondary School (Điện Biên district), extracurricular activities on Mondays, with themes about the Party, Uncle Hồ, and the homeland, are carried out through various forms such as storytelling, singing, dancing, and acting. In addition, teachers innovate their teaching methods using games and dramatizations to increase students’ interest and help them memorize and understand better.

Nguyễn Đức Hồng, the principal of the school, said: “The activities, competitions, and stories about Uncle Hồ told by the students have left a deep impression, showing their respect for the great Uncle Hồ. At the same time, these stories spread revolutionary ideals, ways of life, and inspire a desire to contribute among students; they foster a vibrant competition to train, cultivate, study, and follow Hồ Chí Minh’s thoughts, morality, and style.”

The stories about Uncle Hồ contribute to training skills, forming good habits for the children, educating them on following the “Five things Uncle Hồ taught children,” shaping their ethical values, and promoting the practice of following Hồ Chí Minh’s thoughts, morality, and style.
