Điện Biên discusses draft political report on socio-economic development

ĐBP – Lê Thành Đô, Deputy Secretary of the Điện Biên Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, presided over a meeting to review and provide feedback on the first draft of the political report on socio-economic development.

This report is being prepared for the upcoming 15th Congress of the Điện Biên Provincial Party Committee for the 2025–2030 tenure.

Đô emphasised that collecting feedback from departments, sectors, and team members is a crucial step in crafting a comprehensive political report on socio-economic development that aligns with the province’s practical conditions and development orientations for the next tenure.

He called upon participants to contribute their knowledge and high sense of responsibility to propose strategic solutions, directions, and visions for socio-economic development over the next five years. The goal is to ensure that the report for the 15th Congress of the Điện Biên Provincial Party Committee in the 2025–2030 tenure is accurate, comprehensive, and effective.

Participants provided numerous assessments regarding the achievements of socio-economic targets set by the 14th Congress of the Provincial Party Committee for the 2020–2025 tenure.

They also discussed and agreed on the development plans and targets for the 2025–2030 period, which include 15 specific indicators across three main groups: economy; society; and infrastructure – environment.

Key focuses include maintaining an economic growth rate of over 10 per cent per year, increasing local budget revenues, restructuring the economic sectors, advancing the processing and energy industries, implementing breakthrough measures to position tourism as a key economic sector, promoting digital transformation, restructuring agriculture, and improving infrastructure, transportation, resources, and environmental management, along with healthcare and public health services.

Several comments were made concerning the structure, key sections, content, and scope of the political report to ensure it comprehensively and effectively addresses the proposed goals.

In concluding the meeting, Đô praised the efforts of the office and team members in drafting the report.

He requested continued improvement, filling in any gaps and addressing the challenges and lessons learned from the 2020–2025 tenure.

He also suggested refining and eliminating less relevant content in the situational analysis for the upcoming phase and reviewing data for accuracy and thoroughness. Departments and sectors were urged to construct the report with both assessments and accompanying solutions.

A leader of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment contributes insights regarding resource and environmental issues.

Đô urged urged the statistics office to collaborate with the Department of Planning and Investment to further evaluate and calculate socio-economic targets for the 2025–2030 tenure to ensure they are realistic and locally applicable.

Departments, sectors, and team members were asked to continue studying and contributing to the draft report.
