Central Committee 35 urges proactive steps against hostile online viewpoints

ĐBP – Vũ Trọng Hà, Chief of the Office of Central Steering Committee 35, has emphasized the importance of effectively organising social media crisis management drills.

His strategic recommendation was made during an October 8 working session with Điện Biên Province's Steering Committee 35, as part of an inspection delegation reviewing the province’s implementation of Politburo Resolution 35-NQ/TW.

The session was also attended by Lò Thị Minh Phượng, member of the provincial Standing Committee and head of the provincial Party Propaganda Department.

During the meeting, the inspection delegation was briefed by the provincial Party Propaganda Department on the progress made in safeguarding the Party’s ideological foundation and countering false and hostile narratives. The provincial Steering Committee 35 has been proactive in monitoring the activities of hostile forces, reactionary elements, and political opportunists.

They have closely tracked and reported on shifts in the attitudes of officials, Party members, and the public concerning domestic and international events. Local Party committees, government agencies, and organisations have been working to raise awareness among officials, Party members, and the province's diverse ethnic communities.

The objective has been to equip them with the knowledge and skills needed to counter false and hostile viewpoints online, including promoting safe and effective internet use. This effort has strengthened their commitment to protecting the Party’s ideological foundations, safeguarding the socialist regime, maintaining political stability, and ensuring social security.

The inspection team also discussed and assessed the leadership of the provincial Steering Committee 35 at various levels. They reviewed the committee’s achievements, innovative approaches, and identified challenges in implementing Resolution 35.
Key topics of discussion included the development and operation of an online platform to disseminate positive information, monitor public sentiment—particularly among ethnic minorities in remote areas—and forecast local developments, especially concerning ethnic and religious matters. The team also examined efforts to ensure internal political security and the enforcement of Central Party Secretariat Regulation 85-QĐ/TW within the province.
A draft inspection report was presented, highlighting the achievements, pinpointing areas for improvement, and offering recommendations for the future activities of the provincial Steering Committee 35.

During the meeting, Chief of Office Hà commended the provincial Steering Committee for its success in safeguarding the Party’s ideological foundation and challenging hostile narratives. He provided strategic guidance for the committee’s future tasks, emphasising the need to address existing limitations, fully implement Resolution 35 and Politburo Conclusion 89-KL/TW, enhance training and capacity building, improve communication efforts to promote positive messages, increase supervision and inspections, recognise successful models, and ensure the efficient organisation of social media crisis management drills.
