ĐBP - Facing requirements for agricultural restructuring toward modernity, at the recent 4th Session, the Điện Biên provincial People’s Council passed Resolution 23 on support policies for agricultural sector development toward concentrated, green, smart, and sustainable commodity production, which is expected to create new momentum, drive modern agricultural development, and elevate added value.

ĐBP - Shifting crop structures linked to value chain production, forming concentrated raw material areas, and intensifying trade promotion are opening new directions for Điện Biên agriculture. Many characteristic products - such as tea, coffee, and rice - are step-by-step affirming quality, elevating value, and enhancing market competitiveness.

ĐBP - In implementing the provincial People’s Committee’s Plan No.1850/KH-UBND on new coffee and macadamia planting, localities across Điện Biên have launched simultaneous campaigns and accelerated planting operations since late June. The newly planted areas are now being urgently completed, with efforts focused on meeting the plan within the appropriate planting season and ensuring the targets are achieved.

Of this, forested land exceeds 40,675 hectares, with forest coverage reaching 42.48%. This represents both immense potential and a significant challenge for forest management, protection, and development.

ĐBP - Many residential house construction projects across Điện Biên province are facing labor shortages, directly affecting construction schedules and progress. While small contractors struggle to hire workers, the majority of local labor has shifted to major key projects, inter-level boarding school constructions, or out-of-province employment. This movement makes resolving the workforce equation in residential construction increasingly difficult.

ĐBP - To increase seedling survival rates, ensure stable growth and development for coffee and macadamia trees, and achieve early economic returns, local party committees and authorities across communes have strengthened on-site inspections and stayed close to the grassroots level.

As consumers change their behavior, businesses are proactively adapting their services and production models, helping drive socio-economic development in a greener and more sustainable direction.

ĐBP - Điện Biên has many advantages for developing commercial agriculture. With abundant land, diverse climatic conditions and a range of signature products such as rice, Arabica coffee, macadamia nuts and pineapples, the province has established a presence in the market.

ĐBP - Currently, across multiple streets in Điện Biên Phủ ward, overhead power and telecommunications cables remain tangled like spiderwebs, with many sections sagging low or tied temporarily, detracting from urban aesthetics and posing latent safety hazards to local residents. This situation underscores the urgent need to accelerate the scheduled undergrounding of the power and telecommunications network.

ĐBP - The rainy and flood season always poses potential risks of severed traffic connections, directly impacting the transportation of goods to highland areas.

ĐBP - Although the province possesses numerous advantages in land, climate, and development potential for key sectors such as coffee, macadamia, rice, medicinal plants, and fruit trees, agricultural production still faces significant barriers. Small-scale production, a lack of linkages, limited science and technology application, and hesitant enterprise investment, alongside unsynchronized support policies, have caused the transition from traditional to commodity production to unfold slower than expected.
