ĐBP - In today’s era of information technology boom, promoting and selling OCOP products on e-commerce platforms (e-commerce) is a trend that helps products get closer to consumers. However, alongside these opportunities, there are still many challenges for businesses, cooperatives, production facilities, and state management units.

ĐBP - Recently, pork consumption in some localities of Điện Biên province has dropped significantly. The main cause comes from consumer caution following reports of African Swine Fever (ASF) outbreaks. Although the disease is now under control, sporadic outbreaks continue to worry many people.

ĐBP - At the foot of the Tằng Quái pass, the Mường Khoe valley has long been known as the “capital” of Arabica coffee in the Northwestern region. Blessed with a cool climate year-round, fertile soil, and an ideal altitude, this region is proving its position on the map of Vietnamese coffee with its production, quality, and brand.

ĐBP - In recent times, Tuần Giáo commune, Điện Biên province has focused on implementing a program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated housing for poor and near-poor households. Thanks to this effort, many families now have new homes, allowing them to stabilize their lives, work with peace of mind, and strive to escape poverty.

Flexibly relocating transaction points to locations most convenient for the public has helped ensure that credit activities are implemented safely, properly, and effectively.

ĐBP - Forest production has been considered a sustainable direction that contributes to ecological environmental protection while creating livelihoods and improving the income of local people. Over the years, Điện Biên province has issued several mechanisms and policies to support the development of forest production. However, the implementation process at the grassroots level still faces many difficulties and obstacles. Local residents are uninterested in forest planting, causing the set targets to fall short of expectations.

ĐBP - In the first six months of 2025, the Điện Biên province’s Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) reached nearly VND 7,982 billion, an increase of 5.11% compared to the same period last year. This growth rate is lower than both the annual target and the national average.

ĐBP - Since the beginning of this year, African swine fever (ASF) has continued to develop in a complex manner, re-emerging in many localities across Điện Biên province.

ĐBP - According to statistics from competent authorities, since the beginning of the year, African swine fever has occurred in 398 households across 106 hamlets and villages in 15 out of 45 communes and wards in Điện Biên province, with 1,866 pigs infected and culled, weighing a total of 87,509 kilograms, causing losses worth billions of VND.

ĐBP - Once a poor, remote village with an almost absolute poverty rate, Tát Hẹ (in Mường Ảng commune, Điện Biên province) is gradually transforming, thanks to the effective utilization of its hilly land potential, agricultural economic development, and the growing determination of its people to improve their own lives.

ĐBP - Macadamia is expected to become a “billion-dollar crop,” bringing sustainable livelihoods to people in mountainous areas. However, in recent times, several localities in the province have witnessed the premature harvesting and selling of unripe macadamia nuts, which not only reduces their economic value but also negatively impacts the brand reputation of this specialty product.

ĐBP - Following the recent restructuring and streamlining of the two-tier local government apparatus, the transfer of management for ongoing and completed infrastructure projects is being carried out urgently to ensure continuity. The goal is to avoid any delays or disruptions caused by the reorganization and merger of administrative units.

ĐBP - Hundreds of households in the former center of Thanh Hưng commune, now part of Thanh Nưa commune, Điện Biên province are enduring daily hardships as they navigate a severely degraded road leading to the old commune center. Despite repeated appeals and years of hope, the rugged, muddy path remains a persistent burden, especially during the rainy season.

ĐBP - Across the country, more than 540 communes and wards in 30 of 34 provinces and cities still have African swine fever (ASF) outbreaks that have not passed the 21-day quarantine period. The illegal sale, purchase, transport, slaughter, and consumption of sick or dead pigs, as well as the disposal of carcasses into the environment, are worsening the epidemic’s spread.

ĐBP - In recent years, people of Mường Phăng commune, Điện Biên province have worked tirelessly to establish a strong brand for the Hạ Đen grape variety grown in the area. However, some individuals have taken advantage of this growing reputation, selling untraceable products under the name “Mường Phăng grapes”. This situation is causing distress among genuine grape farmers and raising concerns about the potential loss of the local agricultural brand.

ĐBP - To promote sustainable agricultural development, localities have mobilized resources and focused on concretizing inter-field traffic routes and irrigation canals. The upgraded and synchronized infrastructure facilitates farming, improves productivity and output, and enhances the value of agricultural products in the province.
