Huổi Vang transformer station becomes operational

ĐBP - On the morning of January 26, the People’s Committee of Mường Chà District, Điện Biên Province held a ceremony to put the Huổi Vang Transformer Station in Mường Mươn Commune into operation. This station is part of the rural electrification project utilizing the national power grid under the “Light up Điện Biên" program.

Present at the event were Mr. Mùa A Sơn, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee; Mr. Lò Văn Mừng, Member of the Standing Committee and Head of the provincial Mass Mobilization Department; and Mr. Lò Văn Tiến, Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee.

To implement the project, the district’s functional agencies expedited procedures for construction, promoted the public’s awareness of the facility, and encouraged local people to donate land for site clearance under the motto “the State and the people work together.”

At the same time, Mường Chà ensured optimal conditions for the project’s construction to right after contractor selection. The district prioritized resources to complete the Huổi Vang transformer station in time to provide electricity to residents before the 2025 Lunar New Year (Tết) holiday.

Huổi Vang is a border hamlet in Mường Mươn Commune, with 118 households and 634 residents, of whom 31% are classified as poor or near-poor. The electrification project in Huổi Vang Hamlet includes: 3 medium-voltage line positions spanning 115m, 1 transformer station, 62 low-voltage line positions (0.4 kV) extending 2,150m, 85 electricity meters, 8,108m of wiring beyond the meters, and associated systems.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Lò Văn Tiến congratulated residents of Huổi Vang Hamlet on accessing electricity from the national grid ahead of the 2025 Tết. He highlighted that the completion of this project not only improves the living standards for residents but also strengthens security, fosters sustainable economic development, and helps narrow regional disparities.

Vice Chairman Lò Văn Tiến emphasized that this initial success serves as a crucial foundation for Mường Chà District to strive toward completing the entire project as planned. He urged the district to continue raising sense of responsibility and coordinating with contractors to accelerate land clearance, and ensuring timely, compliant construction of the project.
