Reportedly, over the past 10 years, Điện Biên District has thoroughly and effectively promoted the nationwide movement for people to participate in protecting territorial sovereignty and national border security in the 2015-2025 period, following the Directive No.01/CT-TTg by the Prime Minister.

Leaders of the Điện Biên District’s Party Committee, along with representatives from the Điện Biên Province’s Border Guard Command, presented gifts to policy families, poor households in the two communes of Thanh Chăn and Pa Thơm.

The awareness of the public of this issue has significantly improved. The relations between residents and armed forces, as well as various agencies and organizations, have been increasingly strengthened and developed.

Border posts stationed in the district have well played its core role in making proposals to local Party organizations and authorities of Pa Thơm and Thanh Chăn Communes in implementing national defense and security tasks in general, and the Directive No.01/CT-TTg in particular, in accordance with the actual conditions of the district.

Since 2015, the units have coordinated with functional forces to conduct 186 patrols with 2,046 participants, including 26 bilateral patrols with 568 participants... Members of the self-management teams and local people have provided border guards, police and military forces of communes with 548 pieces of information, of which 180 were vital in helping local authorities and border posts grasp the situation and promptly address any circumstances. These activities have contributed to ensuring political security and social order across the district, especially in border areas.
