Điện Biên opens 2025 Spring Press Festival

ĐBP - On the morning of January 18, at May 7 Square in Điện Biên Phủ City, the Điện Biên provincial Journalists’ Association organized the opening ceremony of the 2025 Spring Press Festival.

Attending the ceremony were Mr. Mùa A Sơn, Standing Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee; Mr. Phạm Đức Toàn, Member of the Standing Board of the provincial Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee; and Mr. Lò Văn Mừng, Member of the Standing Board, Head of the provincial Mass Mobilization Committee; among others.

The 2025 Spring Press Festival is held at May 7 Square in Điện Biên Phủ City.

The festival features 11 booths showcasing publications from various agencies, including Điện Biên Phủ Newspaper, provincial Radio and Television, the provincial Journalists’ Association, the provincial Literature and Arts Association, central press agencies based in the province, local publishing units, Vietnam News Agency, provincial Center for Culture and Cinema, the provincial Library, and booths displaying and selling OCOP products.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Mùa A Sơn acknowledged and praised the achievements of journalists and media professionals over the past years. He urged press agencies to align their activities with plans to promote the celebration of significant national and provincial anniversaries and historical events in 2025. Special emphasis was placed on extensively covering the Party congresses at all levels for the 2025-2030 term and the 15th provincial Party Congress leading to the 14th National Party Congress.

Journalists, reporters, and editors were encouraged to fulfill their roles as “soldiers” in the cultural and ideological front, adhering to professional ethics and the code of conduct on social media for journalists. They were also urged to continuously improve their competence and produce high-quality journalistic works.

Mr. Mùa A Sơn expressed confidence that the solid foundation laid in previous years would enable press agencies, along with journalists, reporters, and editors to achieve greater success in the coming time. He highlighted their partnership with the Party, government, and other organizations in building a prosperous Điện Biên, characterized by a “green, harmonious, distinctive, and happy” orientation.

The 2025 Spring Press Festival showcases spring-themed publications, magazines, and special editions from ministries, provincial and municipal agencies nationwide, and Điện Biên Province. The event aims to serve soldiers and the public, offering a chance for further learning information about the achievements of the nation and the province.

Beyond meeting public information needs, the festival provides an opportunity for central and local journalists, reporters, and editors to meet together, exchange experiences, and listen to feedback from readers. This helps address shortcomings and further enhance the quality of press activities, ensuring alignment with political orientation and journalistic principles. It facilitates timely and accurate coverage of provincial activities.

The 2025 Spring Press Festival will take place from January 18 to 19 at May 7 Square, allowing readers to visit and enjoy various journalistic publications.
