Chairman of the VFF Committee of Điện Biên Province presents Tết gifts in Điện Biên Đông

ĐBP – On January 18, Mr. Mùa A Vảng, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Member of the Standing Committee of the Điện Biên Province’s Party Committee, and Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Committee of Điện Biên Province, visited and presented gifts to poor and near-poor households, and reputable individuals in Điện Biên Đông District on the occasion of the 2025 Lunar New Year (Tết) holiday.

Joining the delegation were Mrs. Lò Thị Minh Phượng, Member of the Standing Board and Head of the provincial Party Committee’s Commission for Information and Education, as well as leaders from the provincial Party Committee’s Commission for Ethnic Affairs, the provincial People’s Council, and Điện Biên Đông District.

A total of 255 gift packages, valued at over VNĐ 127 million (VNĐ 500,000 each), were distributed from donations by PetroVietnam (VNĐ 100 million) and the provincial Fund for the poor.

Of these, 20 packages were given to Mường Luân Commune, 40 to Chiềng Sơ Commune, 40 to Luân Giói Commune, and 50 each to Phình Giàng and Pú Hồng Communes. Additionally, 5 packages were allocated to reputable individuals, while 50 others were handed over to the district for distribution to local needy people.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Mùa A Vảng emphasized that caring for people’s lives during Tết is a priority. Over the past time, the provincial VFF Committee has actively mobilized resources and organized gift-giving activities for the poor. Many organizations have contributed to the effort, and numerous gifts have been delivered.

The official also highlighted upcoming plans to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the province, urging Điện Biên Đông District and its communes to focus on implementing this initiative to provide new homes for impoverished families.

On behalf of the province’s leadership, Mr. Mùa A Vảng extended warm wishes for a joyful, cozy, and happy Tết celebration to all residents and encouraged them to work hard to rise out of poverty.
