ĐBP - During his lifetime, President Hồ Chí Minh once reminded in a letter to Catholics: “We, the entire people - both religious and non-religious - must unite in resistance so that the Fatherland gains independence and religion enjoys freedom”. That reminder was not only a truth of the resistance era but also a guiding principle for the nation’s cause of building and defending the country. Today in Điện Biên province, that spirit of solidarity continues to be affirmed in the daily lives of religious communities, contributing to the great national unity.

ĐBP - In the nation’s development journey, every locality carries its own historical mission and political responsibility. For Điện Biên - a land rich in revolutionary tradition and forever tied to the victory that “resounded across five continents and shook the world” - that mission is even more sacred, as it stands as a steadfast “frontier stronghold” at the westernmost edge of the Fatherland.

ĐBP - On September 2, 1945, at the historic Ba Đình Square, President Hồ Chí Minh proclaimed the Declaration of Independence, giving birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam. From that emotional moment when our country officially took its place on the world map, every Vietnamese has carried the responsibility to defend each inch of land and unify the nation. The Fatherland is not only the heroic pages of history but also the strength of great national unity, so that today every Vietnamese can proudly declare: “I am Vietnamese.”

ĐBP - Since the two-tier local government system came into operation, officials across Điện Biên province have actively gone to the people instead of waiting for the people to come to them. By staying close to the grassroots, listening, and working side by side with citizens, they have demonstrated responsibility and a spirit of service, strengthening public trust in the leadership of the Party and the government.

ĐBP - Once a revolutionary base during the resistance war against the French, Xa Dung commune, Điện Biên province has endured many historical hardships and challenges, forging an unyielding tradition of resilience. Building on that legacy, the Party Committee, authorities, and people of Xa Dung have remained united, determined to overcome difficulties and promote socio-economic development. From a revolutionary base in the past to a community striving for prosperity today, Xa Dung stands as living testimony to steadfast spirit and the aspiration for a better, sustainable future.

ĐBP - After the merger of the three communes Xá Nhè, Mường Đun, and Phình Sáng, the area of industrial crops in Sáng Nhè commune, Điện Biên province has expanded.

ĐBP - In recent years, the implementation of Directive No.05-CT/TW of the Politburo on “Promoting the studying and following of Hồ Chí Minh’s thought, morality, and style” has deeply permeated political and social life across Điện Biên Province. Learning from and following Uncle Hồ has become a regular, self-motivated practice, spreading widely throughout the political system and among the people. The results achieved have brought about positive changes in the thinking and actions of officials and Party members, contributing significantly to Party building, socio-economic development, and the safeguarding of national defense and security in the province.

ĐBP - With the implementation of the two-tier local government model, many officials have been assigned to new positions, working far from their families in remote, mountainous, and border communes. Difficult travel conditions, limited facilities, and inconveniences in daily life have posed significant challenges. Ensuring both material and spiritual support for these officials has become an important “pillar,” helping them stay confident, overcome difficulties, and remain committed to their duties long term.

ĐBP - Recognizing that personnel preparation for the 15th Điện Biên provincial Party Congress, 2025-2030 term, is a decisive and central task, the provincial Party Committee has focused on reviewing standards and conditions for officials expected to be re-elected and for those eligible to join the Party Committee and the Inspection Commission for the first time in the new term. Up to now, personnel preparations have been carried out in line with the plan, ensuring compliance with Party regulations and the Party Charter.

ĐBP - In the historic days of August, as the entire nation looks back on the milestone of 80 years of Independence, people’s hearts are once again filled with sacred emotions. Sharing in that pride, the young people of Điện Biên province’s ethnic communities have been carrying out meaningful programs that spread the spirit of patriotism and deep gratitude to the generations who sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland.

ĐBP - With a spirit of proactiveness and high responsibility, the commune and ward police forces across Điện Biên province have synchronously implemented measures to ensure public security and order as well as traffic safety, thereby making an important contribution to the successful, safe, and well-organized commune-level Party congresses.

ĐBP - With the implementation of the two-tier government model, young civil servants in Điện Biên province are showing their active spirit, creativity, and continuous learning in adapting to the challenges of a new work environment. They are playing a key role in administrative reform while proactively supporting people in remote areas, asserting the role and responsibility of the younger generation in the province’s development.

ĐBP - In preparation for the 15th Congress of the Điện Biên provincial Party Committee (2025-2030 term), one of the key tasks that the Standing Board of the provincial Party Committee has paid special attention to is the drafting of the Political Report of the 14th provincial Party Committee (2020-2025 term). At this stage, grassroots Party organizations, provincial departments, agencies, and the public have provided comments on the fourth draft of the Political Report.

ĐBP - The 2025 - 2030 term marks an important transition for communes and wards after the implementation of the two-tier local government model. The first Party congresses in many localities have been successfully held, setting out concrete goals and practical solutions, reflecting the determination to quickly bring resolutions into everyday life and create momentum for fast, sustainable development.

ĐBP - Nearly two months after the new commune-level governments came into operation in Điện Biên province, the system has basically stabilized and is running smoothly. However, reality reveals a pressing challenge: the shortage of qualified cadres, civil servants, and public employees with specialized expertise to meet the growing and increasingly complex workload. This “bottleneck” must be resolved soon to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of State management at the grassroots level.

ĐBP - More than a month after the launch of the two-tier local government model, grassroots-level authorities have been actively inspecting villages, meeting residents, and listening to their voices. This has enabled them to grasp the real situation on the ground, understand local needs and aspirations, and develop timely solutions and action programs that address urgent issues while laying the foundation for sustainable development.

ĐBP - Điện Biên Phủ ward, Điện Biên province, was established under Resolution No.1661/NQ-UBTVQH15 of the National Assembly Standing Committee, through the merger of five former wards (Him Lam, Tân Thanh, Mường Thanh, Thanh Bình, Thanh Trường) and Thanh Minh commune of the former Điện Biên Phủ city. Immediately after transitioning to the two-tier local government model, the ward’s Party Committee successfully held its first Congress, setting a clear goal of building a modern, civilized urban area.

ĐBP - The achievements in the fight against drugs, the resilience in overcoming challenges in major criminal cases, and the steadfast trust of the people in the mountainous villages have all shaped the image of the brave and determined police officers of Điện Biên province. Through a journey of building, fighting, and growing, the sacrifices of each generation of officers have written a heroic history, confirming their central role in the fight to protect national security.
