Điện Biên focuses on organising great national unity festival at residential areas

ĐBP – Mùa A Vảng, Chairman of the Việt Nam Fatherland Front Committee of Điện Biên Province, urged districts, towns, and cities to focus on organising the great national unity festival at residential areas.

He made this request at the third-quarter 2024 review meeting on Thursday with local authorities, emphasising that it is one of the key tasks for the fourth quarter of this year.

In the third quarter, the Việt Nam Fatherland Front Committees at all levels, along with their member organisations, carried out their plans effectively and achieved many positive results.

Notably, the provincial Fatherland Front successfully held its 13th Congress for the 2024-2029 tenure, and effectively conducted public outreach and mobilisation activities through flexible and locally adapted methods.

Efforts to support policy beneficiaries, people with meritorious service, poor households, and families affected by natural disasters and fires were implemented promptly and thoughtfully. During the quarter, assistance was provided to families affected by floods, flash floods, and fires, with a total amount exceeding VNĐ6.1 billion.

Many campaigns and emulation movements were extensively promoted, contributing to the province's socio-economic development, national defence, and security goals.

Additionally, the Fatherland Front at all levels was active in party-building, government-building, social supervision, and criticism, while the organisational structure and personnel were strengthened. There were also innovations in the content and methods of operation.

During the meeting, delegates discussed the key achievements of the Fatherland Front's recent work, as well as challenges and difficulties encountered. Discussions also covered public communication about land clearance for projects and managing financial contributions for people affected by natural disasters.

Delegates provided feedback on the draft summary report on organising the Fatherland Front Congresses at all levels for the 2024-2029 tenure.

In concluding the meeting, Vảng praised the work of the Fatherland Front across districts, towns, and cities.

For the fourth quarter, he asked local authorities to thoroughly implement the resolutions of the 10th National Congress of the Việt Nam Fatherland Front (2024-2029 tenure) and the 13th Congress of the provincial Fatherland Front.

He also emphasised the need to closely monitor the situation among the people, continue improving outreach and mobilisation, promote democracy, and protect the legitimate rights and interests of the people.

He urged local authorities to review cases impacted by Typhoon Yagi to provide timely support, coordinate plans for assisting poor households during the upcoming Lunar New Year, and promptly advise on strengthening the leadership teams of the Fatherland Front at all levels.
