At first, people were concerned about handing over their land without seeing immediate returns. To ease those worries, the company adopted a fair support policy: providing jobs in plantation care and paying wages so households had income while waiting for the trees to mature. Once the plantations entered their business cycle, profit-sharing mechanisms ensured clear benefits for land contributors: in addition to wages earned, households receive annual dividends based on the land area they contributed.
Currently, the company manages 4,683 hectares of rubber, of which 4,488 hectares were contributed by 4,091 households. Over 3,588 hectares are now under tapping. In mid-August 2025, the company disbursed more than VND 14.6 billion in dividends for 2024 to over 4,000 households across 10 communes and wards. Payments were made flexibly, either via bank transfer or directly at local commune offices, ensuring convenience.

Many households confirm the positive change. “The company’s payments are timely and accurate. Thanks to this money, my family can buy supplies and books for our children,” shared Quàng Thị Phích of Mường Pồn commune. Similarly, Lò Văn Tình from Thanh Nưa commune noted: “At first, we worried because profits weren’t immediate. But now, with both wages and dividends, we can afford our children’s schooling, renovate our home, and improve our livelihoods.”
This marks the eighth consecutive year the company has paid dividends to land contributors. To ensure fairness and transparency, information on payment schedules and household entitlements is publicly posted at local commune offices, with local officials supervising the process. The company is also working with banks to expand payment via personal accounts, reducing risks tied to cash handling.
Beyond financial benefits, the Điện Biên Rubber Joint Stock Company prioritizes workers’ welfare. Hundreds of local youth have been recruited, with over 800 workers currently employed, 92% from ethnic minority groups, earning an average monthly income of VND 6 million. Workers also enjoy social insurance, health insurance, technical training, and protective equipment.
General Director Nguyễn Ngọc Cẩm affirmed: “We place the rights of the people first. Only when they feel secure and committed can rubber truly develop sustainably. That’s why every step, from payments to social benefits, is done openly, transparently, and on time.”
The evidence is clear: rubber has not only re-greened barren hills but also created new livelihoods, helping thousands of households improve their lives. Each drop of latex is proof of the partnership between enterprises and the people, between provincial policy and public trust. This harmony of interests forms a solid foundation for rubber to continue playing its strategic role in Điện Biên’s socio-economic development.
