With a spirit of enthusiasm, responsibility, dynamism, and creativity, youths of Điện Biên today have made many positive contributions to the social community, helping to build an increasingly developed and beautiful homeland.
To effectively implement volunteer movements, the provincial Youth Union Standing Board directed youth organizations at all levels to register and undertake youth projects associated with local socio-economic development tasks, prioritizing difficult areas, remote regions, and border zones. These volunteer activities have attracted a large number of youth members, particularly through movements such as “Volunteer Youth,” “Creative Youth,” and “Youth Pioneering in National Protection.”
The provincial Youth Union identified the “3 links” policy as a consistent orientation, where the synchronized implementation of movements has strengthened cohesion, leveraged collective strength, and improved the effectiveness of youth and children’s movements. In 2025, the entire province carried out 256 youth works, including 21 province-level projects, 27 district-level projects, and 208 grassroots-level projects.
Following the spirit of “wherever needed, the youth are there; wherever there is difficulty, the youth are present,” and in response to the call for the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses from the Prime Minister and the provincial People’s Committee, the Youth Union promoted wide communication of the movement among its members. By actively mobilizing social resources and connecting with benefactors, they completed and handed over 15 houses with a total cost of VND 1.12 billion. Additionally, they coordinated with the Department of Construction to transfer technology for unburnt earth-cement bricks to serve the construction of houses for local residents. The familiar green shirts of volunteers have become a well-known image across villages, from newly opened concrete roads to meaningful community works. With youthful heat and a sense of responsibility toward the homeland, members have not hesitated to face difficulties and join hands in building new-style rural areas, contributing to positive changes in highland villages.
Youth Union levels in the province have actively mobilized resources to participate in developing rural infrastructure, implementing practical activities such as building roads and bridges and lighting up rural paths. Throughout the province, three rural bridges were built, lighting systems were installed on 18.5km of rural roads, and 110km of transport routes were repaired. They also organized over 250 activities to participate in building new-style rural areas, helping two villages complete new-style rural criteria. These movements not only bring practical value to the people but also serve as an environment for youth to train and grow. Through every project and volunteer campaign, members gain practical experience and raise their awareness and responsibility toward society, forming a class of young people who live beautifully and possess the knowledge and health to contribute to the community.
Over the years, the Standing Board of the provincial Youth Union Committee has proactively and creatively implemented practical activities to accompany young people on their journey of starting and establishing a career. From programs providing knowledge and connecting resources to those guiding economic models, these activities have sparked a spirit of self-reliance and the desire to succeed on their own land. In Nà Khuyết village, Mường Chà commune, Poòng Văn Nghiệp is a young party member recognized for his pioneering spirit in economic development. Starting with a small amount of capital, he invested in 60 beehives and 50 commercial bamboo rats, which now provide a stable annual income of nearly VND 100 million. He expressed his commitment to leading by example so that other villagers and young people can learn and follow, with plans to expand his model and share his experience to improve local incomes.
Similarly, Tòng Thị Hà from Chiềng Chung village, Tuần Giáo commune, utilized the initial success of her closed-loop farm model to establish the Mường Quài Ecological Agriculture Cooperative with five members. The cooperative focuses on raising free-range chickens, black pigs, and fish following safe and organic orientations, gradually building a value chain from production to consumption. Tòng Thị Hà noted that the cooperative members support each other with experience and techniques to ensure stable output and a better life for their families.
The footprints of Điện Biên youths have left a deep mark on every path, from remote villages to difficult border areas, receiving high praise from local authorities and the people. Moving forward, youths of Điện Biên continue to inspire a spirit of commitment and dedication to achieve new accomplishments for their homeland.
