Điện Biên Province has more than 3,500 outstanding business households

ĐBP - On the afternoon of January 15, the Executive Committee of the Farmers’ Union of Điện Biên Province held its 6th conference of the 10th term for the 2023-2028 period to review task performance in 2024 and deploy missions in 2025.

In 2024, the union and the farmers’ movement developed vigorously, focusing on raising their members’ awareness of politics, ideology, and ethics, via a variety of forms.

The work of strengthening the union’s organization and expanding its members has been enhanced; and the roles and responsibilities of officials, members, and farmers in participating in socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security, and building the Party and political system have been promoted.

Last year, the union’s chapters at all levels admitted 2,038 new members, bringing the total number of members in the province to 87,175.

The union has promoted its role in caring for and protecting legitimate rights and interests of its members. The work of consulting, supporting, and providing vocational services for members and farmers to develop production and business has seen many innovations and effectiveness.

Emulation movements initiated by the union have been effectively implemented, especially the drives “Farmers build new-style rural areas” and “Farmers participate in ensuring national defense and security.”

The Farmers’ Union of the Điện Biên Province awards the certificate of merit to collectives.

In 2024, the movement “Farmers produce and do business well, unite to help each other and reduce poverty sustainably” has 7,006 members registered; among them, 3,532 households have been recognized for achieving the title “Excellent farmer in business and production” at all levels.

These results have contributed to agricultural development, the construction of new-style rural areas, and the enhancement of both the material and spiritual lives of members and farmers. They have also ensured social security, maintained political stability, public order and safety, and firmly safeguarded national border sovereignty.

In 2025, the Farmers’ Union of Điện Biên Province identifies 7 key tasks, focusing on the following fields: Implementing synchronous solutions to successfully execute the resolutions of the Party Congresses and the Farmers’ Congresses at all levels; innovating and enhancing the quality and effectiveness of the movement for farmers to do successfully production and business; closely engaging with grassroots levels to understand thoughts and aspirations of farmers, in order to make recommendations to local Party organizations and authorities at all levels.

The union needs to regularly train and introduce outstanding staff and members to local Party organizations for admitting Party membership; proactively coordinate with local armed forces to promote and raise awareness among staff, members, and farmers of national defense, security tasks, maintaining political stability, ensuring national security, and public order and safety.

At the conference, units under the union signed the emulation agreement to successfully accomplish their tasks for the year of 2025. On this occasion, the Executive Committee of the Farmers’ Union of Điện Biên Province awarded certificate of merit to 4 collectives and 11 individuals for their outstanding achievements in task performance in 2024.
