To control these issues from early and from afar, functional agencies are strengthening management, inspection, and the handling of violations combined with propaganda to improve the awareness of legal compliance among the people.
Đào Thị Trang, who works for the Administrative Management of Social Order Division under the provincial police, stated that the provincial police have implemented synchronous professional measures and strengthened situation monitoring from early and from afar. The force also coordinates closely with other units to regularly inspect and control the area while promoting the dissemination of legal regulations on firecracker management to improve public awareness. Thanks to these efforts, no cases of illegal trading, storage, or use of firecrackers were discovered within the province in 2025.
Currently, the provincial police are implementing a peak campaign to mobilize all people to hand over weapons, explosives, supporting tools, and illegally stored firecrackers within the area to ensure security and order.
This campaign also aims to prevent the risks of fire, explosion, and accidents to maintain peace in the community as the 2026 Lunar New Year 2026 comes close. Functional forces have organized the reception of these items at the police headquarters of communes and wards or the cultural houses of villages and hamlets to handle them according to regulations. Đào Thị Trang noted that all acts of storing, buying, selling, transporting, manufacturing, or illegally using weapons and explosives will be strictly handled according to the law.
While the measures to control illegal firecrackers are being implemented drastically, the risk of fire and explosion is also an issue of special concern for functional forces every time the holiday arrives. Reality shows that many fires occurring in 2025 originated from subjectivity and carelessness in the use of fire sources, heat sources, and electrical equipment as well as the limited knowledge and fire prevention skills of the people. To minimize these incidents, the provincial police implement many solutions in which the Fire Prevention, Fighting, and Rescue force plays the core role.
Propaganda work is promoted with flexible and diverse methods suitable for each area and group of subjects while focusing on residential areas, households, production establishments, and crowded places. In 2025, the units coordinated to post thousands of news items and clips warning of fire risks on mass media. At the grassroots level, the loudspeaker system of the communes has broadcasted more than 17,000 sessions along with nearly 1,500 broadcasts on public LED screens.
Besides that, hundreds of mobile propaganda sessions using fire trucks and motorbikes with mobile speakers were organized for each village, hamlet, and household. Many community-based fire prevention models are maintained and have promoted their effectiveness, such as 162 Public Firefighting Points, 172 Inter-family Fire Safety Groups, 334 Fire Safety Schools, and more than 800 Fire Safety Gong models.
Nguyễn Văn Thưởng, who serves as the Head of the Fire Prevention, Fighting, and Rescue Division of the provincial police, stated that the unit organized inspections of fire safety at warehouses in Mường Thanh ward and Điện Biên Phủ ward from January 22 to 28 to proactively prevent risks during the holiday. These inspections show that most establishments basically comply with fire safety regulations while focusing on equipping initial firefighting tools and arranging exit paths and goods neatly to ensure safety distances.
For establishments that have not arranged goods reasonably or whose electrical systems have not been checked regularly, the force promptly reminds and guides them on how to fix these issues. This helps the establishments improve their awareness and responsibility in prevention work to minimize the risk of fire and explosion incidents while ensuring safety for people and property during the holiday.
