Currently, the teams are concentrating on reviewing knowledge, testing robots, refining science and technology products, and preparing stage presentations, standing fully prepared for the competition in the final round.
To prepare for the Robotics competition themed “Harvesting Điện Biên’s Golden Season,” the teams are focusing on verifying operational capabilities of their robots through each trial run. The mission of harvesting and transporting rice on the sand table arena within a limited timeframe requires the robot to maneuver accurately, mechanisms to operate stably, and strategic plans to be feasible. Through testing, students identify suboptimal points and fine-tune details to optimize operational efficiency.
Alongside the Robotics category, the teams dedicate substantial time to reviewing for the “Gateway of Knowledge” round and perfecting entries for the “Conquering Science and Technology” showcase. The “Gateway of Knowledge” demands solid academic foundations, quick thinking, and the ability to apply insights; meanwhile, “Conquering Science and Technology” requires students to clearly present ideas, creativity, and product applicability. Assigning duties, exchanging approaches, and reviewing each segment help team members coordinate more effectively throughout preparations.
According to Chui Quỳnh Chi, a 12th-grade student (Class 12C10) at Điện Biên provincial Ethnic Boarding High School, the preparatory phase sets forth diverse requirements, compelling members to discuss and jointly resolve emerging difficulties.
“To prepare for the finals, we review knowledge together, examine each segment, and complete assigned tasks. For certain tasks, once we started working, we found them more difficult than anticipated, so the whole team had to discuss, test, and adjust repeatedly. Through that process, we have become more proactive in coordinating to solve issues and feel more confident when presenting our ideas. We will try our utmost to perform well in the finals,” Quỳnh Chi enthusiastically shared.
The Greeting round is also being gradually polished by the teams through rehearsal sessions. From narration scripts and presentation styles to team coordination, adjustments are made to ensure natural, captivating deliveries bearing each team’s distinctive imprint.
For Lò Bảo Nam, a 12th-grade student (Class 12C2) at Thanh Nưa High School, the entire team’s preparation requires every member to master assigned roles while proactively coordinating with peers to handle scenarios that may arise during the contest. “The closer we get to the final match, the harder we try to concentrate on every detail. We rehearse together, discuss weak points, and assist one another to prepare thoroughly. I believe the essential factor is that each member takes responsibility for their duty, while knowing how to collaborate with teammates whenever unexpected situations arise during the contest. Our team is very determined and will endeavor to remain calm, confident, and compete to the best of our abilities in the finals,” expressed Bảo Nam.
While student initiative plays an essential role in preparation, the students still require the companionship and guidance of teachers to refine knowledge, products, and practical skills. Rather than doing the work for them, teachers provide inspiration and guidance, helping students recognize limitations, seek solutions, and test them firsthand.
Nguyễn Sông Thao, Secretary of the Youth Union of Lê Quý Đôn High School for the Gifted, shared: “The school focuses on promoting student initiative throughout preparations, concentrating on consolidating knowledge and honing coordination and problem-solving skills for team members. Teachers accompany and inspire students to recognize areas needing refinement, but selecting solutions and coordinating with teammates are tasks the students must execute directly.”
The 2026 “Planet 4.0” finals are scheduled to take place on October 24 at the studio of the Điện Biên Newspaper, Radio, and Television Station. On the competition arena, knowledge, situational problem-solving skills, robotic precision, and the persuasiveness of science and technology concepts will all be put to the test. Each competition category promises dramatic showdowns where teams demonstrate fortitude, creativity, and team spirit on their journey to conquer “Planet 4.0.”
