Điện Biên inspects flash flood recovery efforts in Mường Pồn Commune

ĐBP – On Wednesday, Mùa A Sơn, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Điện Biên Provincial Party Committee, inspected recovery efforts in Mường Pồn Commune following the flooding caused by prolonged heavy rain in Điện Biên District.

Mùa A Sơn, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Điện Biên Provincial Party Committee inspects the efforts to relocate affected residents in Tin Tốc Village.

Sơn instructed the Điện Biên District’s authorities, along with police, military and border forces, to fully mobilise resources to expedite search and rescue operations.

Emphasis was placed on relocating residents and their belongings from Mường Pồn 1 Village, Lĩnh Village, and Tin Tốc Village out of the affected areas.

He also emphasised the need to closely monitor weather forecasts to proactively manage disaster prevention and search and rescue efforts.

Sơn further directed relevant authorities to promptly address issues to ensure traffic flow on National Highway 12 through Mường Pồn Commune.

Additionally, Sơn visited affected families, offering condolences and gifts to those who lost loved ones or have missing persons due to the flood, and encouraged the rescue teams involved in the relief efforts.

Prolonged heavy rain in Mường Pồn Commune, Điện Biên District caused flash floods that resulted in two deaths, five missing and two others injured and caused significant property damage to residents.
