Điện Biên hosts "Becoming Điện Biên Soldiers" experience for secondary students

ĐBP – Nearly 200 students from Thanh Yên and Noong Luống secondary schools in Điện Biên District, Điện Biên Province participated in a two-day experience programme called "Becoming Điện Biên Soldiers".

The programme, lasting from October 30 to 31, was organised by the Điện Biên Phủ Victory Museum.

Students participate in the "Crossing Mountains to Transport Supplies and Ammunition" activity.

The programme included meaningful activities designed to help students gain a deeper understanding of the nation's heroic history and allowed them to step into the role of the brave soldiers of the historic Điện Biên Phủ battle.

More than 100 students, teachers, and parents from Thanh Yên Secondary School and more than 90 participants from Noong Luông Secondary School joined the experience programme.

During the activities, the students wore military uniforms, participated in a flag-raising ceremony, recited oaths, and read the "10 Promises of Students" to express their sense of responsibility and determination to protect their homeland. They also laid wreaths and offered incense at the A1 Martyrs' Cemetery to honour fallen heroes.

Students engaged in hands-on activities such as being a front-line worker in the activity of "Crossing Mountains to Transport Supplies and Ammunition" and took part in a "Golden Bell Challenge" quiz on the Điện Biên Phủ Campaign, which helped build physical fitness, historical knowledge, and teamwork.

Students explore historical artifacts at the Điện Biên Phủ Victory Museum.

The programme also included sessions on major battles in the Điện Biên Phủ Campaign, tours of the panoramic painting of Điện Biên Phủ Campaign, and exploration of historical artifacts displayed at the museum.

Additionally, students visited a special exhibition titled "Uncle Tôn (President Tôn Đức Thắng) and the People’s Army of Việt nam," watched documentary films such as The 56 Days and Nights of Điện Biên Phủ Campaign Legend and Điện Biên – Land and People, and experienced AR and VR games.

Through this experience, students gained a profound appreciation of their nation’s heroic history, especially the sacrifices and hardships of previous generations in the fight for independence and freedom, with a particular focus on the Điện Biên Phủ Campaign.

The programme also fostered a closer connection to history as a subject, encouraging students to engage more deeply with local history, igniting national pride, and inspiring the younger generation to uphold the legacy of Điện Biên Phủ.
