Điện Biên draws in over 11,000 visitors on the opening day of the holiday season

ĐBP - The northern mountainous province saw a significant influx of tourists to its historical sites on the occasion of the National Reunification Day (April 30) and May Day (May 1), as reported by the provincial Heritage Management Board.

The command tunnel of French general De Castries is a destination that attracts many tourists during the holiday.

This year's holiday, commemorating National Reunification Day (April 30) and May Day (May 1), extends for five days. Alongside numerous activities across the province honoring the 70th anniversary of the Điện Biên Phủ Victory, there has been a notable increase in visitors to Điện Biên City. Of the over 11,000 visitors to historical sites, more than 4,760 received complimentary admission tickets, including children under 18, individuals over 60, and war veterans.

Local tourists and those from other cities and provinces come to Điện Biên to visit and enjoy the holiday.

To cater to the sightseeing and tourism requirements of visitors, the provincial Heritage Management Board has arranged duty shifts to ensure an adequate number of ticket sellers, tour guides, and narrators are available to assist tourists. Additionally, the management board has enhanced coordination efforts to maintain order and security at the historical relic sites.
