Ban flower festival to bring beauty to the mountain city

ĐBP - As National Tourism Year – Điện Biên Phủ 2024 unfolds with a plethora of cultural, tourist, and sports events across the province, the eagerly awaited Ban Flower Festival takes center stage. This annual cultural extravaganza, emblematic of Điện Biên's rich heritage, is scheduled for mid-March.

With just a few days remaining until the festival, signs of anticipation abound. Along the main thoroughfares of Điện Biên Phủ City and even on the rugged slopes, the ban trees shed their yellowing leaves to make way for the emergence of delicate blue buds and pristine white blossoms.

Though still in its infancy, the season has already enticed numerous young revelers to don their finest attire and venture out for picturesque photo opportunities amidst the blooming ban flowers. As the banyan trees shed their old foliage and don their new mantle of snow-white blooms, the festive spirit begins to permeate the air.

The Ban Flower Festival promises a vibrant celebration, epitomizing the cultural vibrancy of Điện Biên's highland terrain in the Northwest. Each delicate petal sways gracefully in the breeze, akin to the elegant dresses adorning the local ladies, beckoning visitors from far and wide to immerse themselves in the charm of Điện Biên.

The flower is closely associated with many traditional cultural aspects of the ethnic communities in the Northwest.

The Ban Flower Festival is an annual event, closely intertwined with the daily lives of the ethnic communities in Điện Biên.

The delicate petals of the flower symbolise resilience and strength in the rugged highlands, while also embodying aspirations, the fidelity of partnerships, and the pure beauty that emerges from the hardships of the mountainous terrain in the Northwest.

With just under a month left until the Ban Flower Festival kicks off, it's the time when the ban flowers begin to bloom, welcoming travelers from afar before the festival begins.

At present, along the main thoroughfares of Điện Biên Phủ City, rows of ban flowers are beginning to bloom, heralding the arrival of spring and displaying their vibrant colors before the festival.

As the yellowing leaves gradually fall, the ban trees, along with the streets and alleyways, seem to don a fresh coat, welcoming the arrival of spring.

The delicate white petals sway gently in the breeze, extending a warm invitation and beckoning travelers from afar to the land of ban flowers.

Each azure bud proudly announces the arrival of spring, displaying its vibrant hue in anticipation of the festival season.

Despite being early in the season, many highland girls have already adorned themselves in colorful dresses, capturing moments with the ban flowers through photos and check-ins.

Not only in Điện Biên Phủ City, but also along National Highway 279 and in the districts, the lush white ban flowers gradually reveal their beauty, heralding the approach of the festival.

Amidst the silent rows of ban trees, foreign buses journey to the Northwest, to the land of ban flowers.
