Top officials visit A Pa Chải landmark in Điện Biên Province

ĐBP - Senior defense officials from Việt Nam, Laos, including Deputy Defence Minister Hoàng Xuân Chiến, and his Lao counterpart Vongkham Phommakone, along with representatives from the Chinese Defence Attaché Office in Việt Nam, recently visited the A Pa Chải landmark in Điện Biên Province. This visit highlights the landmark's importance in Vietnamese, Lao, and Chinese diplomatic and defence relations.

The working delegation visits the A Pa Chải Border Guard Station.

During their visit, the trilateral delegation from Việt Nam, Laos, and China highlighted the significant political and diplomatic role of the A Pa Chải landmark. They advocated for enhancements to both road infrastructure and the landmark area to promote peaceful, cooperative border relations and boost tourism.

Additionally, the group made a compassionate gesture by presenting gifts to the soldiers stationed at the A Pa Chải border guard station, further emphasizing the spirit of friendship and cooperation among the nations.

The A Pa Chải landmark, known as Milestone 0, marks the tri-border junction of Việt Nam, Laos, and China.

Installed in 2005 by agreement between the three countries, this granite marker stands two meters tall, with each of its three sides dedicated to one of the nations, featuring information in the respective languages and national emblems.
