Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Trần Quốc Cường congratulates on int’l women’s day

ĐBP - On the occasion of the 115th anniversary of International Women’s Day (March 8) and the 1985th anniversary of the Hai Bà Trưng (Trưng Sisters)’s uprising, this afternoon (March 7), Secretary of the Điện Biên Provincial Party Committee Trần Quốc Cường visited and congratulated the provincial Women’s Union.

On behalf of the Standing Board of the provincial Party Committee, comrade Trần Quốc Cường presented flowers and recognized the significant contributions of female officials, members, and women across the province in recent times.

He urged the provincial Women’s Union at all levels to continue effectively implementing programs, plans, and resolutions from the Vietnam Women’s Union Central Committee and the 14th provincial Party Congress.

He also emphasized the importance of mobilizing and uniting members to actively participate in union activities and movements, enhancing the training and capacity building of female officials, and advising on the appointment of female union officials to leadership positions, thereby promoting gender equality.

Reportedly, chapters of the provincial Women’s Union at all levels were encouraged to strengthen coordination with departments, sectors, and socio-political organizations to effectively propagate and implement the Party’s guidelines and State’s laws and policies, particularly those related to the streamlining and restructuring of the political system.

Comrade Trần Quốc Cường also directed the union to excel in assigned tasks and emulation movements, actively participate in building a strong and transparent Party, promote household economic development, and contribute to the new rural development program. These efforts will help achieve the targets set for 2025 and beyond.

On behalf of the Executive Board of the provincial Women’s Union, Chairwoman Đỗ Thị Thu Thủy reported on the union’s activities in celebration of International Women’s Day. She affirmed that in the coming time, the provincial Women’s Union would maintain its unity, leadership, and direction, striving to fulfill its assigned tasks. The union remains committed to advancing women’s movements in the province, upholding the golden words: “Heroic, indomitable, faithful, and resourceful” bestowed upon Vietnamese women by President Hồ Chí Minh.
