Established on the basis of merging three administrative units (Nà Tấu, Mường Đăng, and Ngối Cáy), the newly formed Nà Tấu commune covers a wider area, with a larger population and significantly more villages. This has placed heavier responsibilities on the local Fatherland Front Committee. To quickly stabilize operations, the Committee promptly consolidated its organizational structure, arranged personnel, assigned tasks clearly, and issued action plans tailored to local realities. It advised the Party committee and coordinated with the authorities to launch various programs aimed at both maintaining previous movements and introducing new initiatives suited to the commune’s specific conditions. Thanks to these efforts, work soon came into order, and the morale of officials, Party members, and residents was stabilized.
According to Mùa A Vừ, Chairman of the Nà Tấu commune’s Fatherland Front Committee, the commune is home to many ethnic groups, each with its own customs and traditions, and without careful communication and mobilization, tensions and conflicts could easily arise. Therefore, right after its establishment, the Committee proactively grasped public sentiment, promptly advised the Party committee, and worked with mass organizations to resolve issues at the grassroots level, preventing the emergence of hot spots.

He emphasized that Fatherland Front work in communes after the merger requires greater initiative and creativity, as well as a change in approach. Front officials must increase their presence at the grassroots, organize direct dialogues, and make use of village elders, heads of hamlets, and respected community figures to spread the Party’s policies and the State’s laws to every household.
Currently, commune-level Fatherland Front Committees face a heavier workload due to larger territories, increased populations, and more diverse customs and traditions. In response, the committees have swiftly consolidated their organizations, clarified responsibilities, and issued concrete action plans.
After the merger, commune-level Fatherland Front Committees have excelled in communication and mobilization, creating consensus among the people. Since administrative restructuring often directly affects residents’ sentiments and interests, guiding public opinion, explaining policies, and mobilizing support have been of utmost importance. The committees and their member organizations regularly visit villages and neighborhoods, organize dialogues, and engage grassroots officials and respected figures. With persistent and coordinated efforts, most residents have agreed with the restructuring policy, contributing to political stability and social order, preventing divisiveness or localism. Particularly in the current environment of multi-dimensional information and rapid growth of social media, many communes have taken advantage of fanpages and community groups to disseminate official information, promptly counter false arguments, and maintain positive public opinion.
Lò Văn Sáng, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Búng Lao commune’s Party Committee, shared that after the commune’s establishment, many village and community meetings were organized in the spirit of “the people know, the people discuss, the people do, the people supervise.” As a result, all policies and plans received active and frank contributions from residents.
Alongside communication, supervision, and social criticism, commune-level Fatherland Front Committees have also innovated the way patriotic emulation movements are carried out. The focus has been the campaign “All People Unite to Build New Rural Areas and Civilized Cities,” linked with environmental protection and the creation of green, clean, and beautiful roads. Committees have also mobilized residents to develop the economy, help one another escape poverty sustainably, and, at the same time, coordinated the mobilization of the Fund for the Poor to support the construction of Great Solidarity Houses, care for poor households and policy families, and call upon businesses and philanthropists to contribute. These efforts have not only carried profound humanitarian significance but also spread the spirit of solidarity and compassion within communities.
The reality in many localities after the merger has shown that commune-level Fatherland Front Committees play a key role in maintaining stability and promoting development. As centers of solidarity, they serve as a solid bridge between the Party’s will and the people’s hearts. They have excelled not only in communication and mobilization but also in organizing and launching emulation movements, while simultaneously carrying out supervision and social criticism to ensure that the Party’s policies and the State’s laws are deeply rooted in everyday life. This provides a firm foundation for building a cleaner and stronger grassroots political system, capable of meeting the demands of renewal, integration, and development in the new period.
