Mùa Chiến Thắng elected as President of the Việt Nam Youth Federation of Điện Biên Province for the term 2024-2029

ĐBP - The plenary session of the 6th Congress of the Việt Nam Youth Federation of Điện Biên Province for the term 2024-2029 took place on Tuesday (October 29) at the Điện Biên Province’s Conference and Cultural Center.

Trần Quốc Cường, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Điện Biên Provincial Party Committee, presented flowers to congratulate the Congress.

Trần Quốc Cường, member of Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Điện Biên Provincial Party Committee; Lò Văn Phương, member of the Standing Committee of the Điện Biên Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Điện Biên Provincial People's Council; Mùa A Vảng, alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Điện Biên Province’s chapter of the Việt Nam Fatherland Front; Lò Văn Mừng, member of the Standing Committee of the Điện Biên Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Điện Biên Provincial Mass Mobilisation Committee; and Lò Văn Tiến, Vice Chairman of the Điện Biên Provincial People's Committee.

The Congress also saw the participation of Nguyễn Minh Triết, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Hồ Chí Minh Communist Youth Union; Nguyễn Kim Quy, Permanent Vice President of the Việt Nam Youth Federation; leaders of the Provincial Youth Unions of Sơn La, Lai Châu, Lào Cai, Yên Bái, Hòa Bình, and 250 delegates representing the united strength, will, and aspirations of over 98,000 members across the province.

The central-level Youth Union and Điện Biên provincial leaders presented flowers to congratulate the new Executive Committee of the Việt Nam Youth Federation of Điện Biên Province.

During the 2019-2024 term, under the guidance and leadership of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, the attention of the Việt Nam Youth Federation, and the cooperation of various sectors, the youth federation and youth movements in Điện Biên Province have attained significant results. Key highlights include innovations in leadership, practical implementation with clear focus, and effective patriotic movements linked to the implementation of Party Congress resolutions at all levels.

During the term, the federation has organised over 1,900 activities under the "Gratitude and Remembrance" initiative; cleaned and repaired over 523 km of rural roads; cleaned 370 km of irrigation canals and ditches, attracting 150,400 youth participants. They provided counselling, vocational guidance, and job introductions to over 67,200 youth, with nearly 7,000 securing stable employment. The Federation also collaborated to build 71 "houses of compassion," 138 new boarding houses, schools for children, 93 playgrounds for children, and provided free medical examinations and medicine to 26,636 people with funding close to VNĐ2.8 billion (US$110.6 million), etc.

For the 2024-2029 term, the Việt Nam Youth Federation of Điện Biên Province has set 10 key targets, including ensuring 100 per cent of officials and members are educated on and 80 per cent of youth are informed about Party, Union, and Federation resolutions; enabling 100,000 youth to access digital capacity-building activities and use digital tools proficiently; and providing vocational guidance to 40,000 young people.

Nguyễn Minh Triết, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Hồ Chí Minh Communist Youth Union, presented awards from the Việt Nam Youth Federation to various collectives and individuals from Điện Biên Province.

Trần Quốc Cường, member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the Điện Biên Provincial Party Committee, praised and acknowledged the achievements of the provincial Vietnam Youth Federation during the last term. He emphasized that these contributions have significantly contributed to the success of the Party Congress resolutions at all levels.

For the 2024-2029 term, the Provincial Party Secretary urged the Việt Nam Youth Federation of Điện Biên Province to continue promoting its leadership role and effectively carry out five key tasks. One crucial aspect is to further harness the pioneering role of youth, a large, young, and dynamic force. To achieve this, the Federation and its member organisations must continue to innovate their activities, enhance the quality and effectiveness of revolutionary movements, expand youth solidarity, and strive to overcome challenges through movements on learning, labour, and creativity, contributing to the province's renewal efforts and development.

Lò Văn Tiến, Vice Chairman of the Điện Biên Provincial People's Committee, awarded certificates of merit from the Điện Biên Provincial People's Committee to collectives and individuals for outstanding contributions in the 2019-2024 term.

With a spirit of democracy and responsibility, the Congress elected 41 comrades to the Executive Committee of the Việt Nam Youth Federation of Điện Biên Province for the 6th term, 2024-2029.

Mùa Chiến Thắng, Standing Vice Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union, was elected as the President of the Federation for the 2024-2029 term.

The Congress also elected 11 official delegates and 3 alternate delegates to attend the 9th National Congress of the Việt Nam Youth Federation.

On this occasion, the Central Committee of the Việt Nam Youth Federation awarded certificates of merit to 4 collectives and 11 individuals, and the Điện Biên Provincial People's Committee awarded certificates of merit to 1 collective and 2 individuals for their excellent performance in the 2019-2024 term.
