Gratitute event organised for Điện Biên war soldiers and frontline volunteers

ĐBP – The Việt Nam Fatherland Front Central Committee, in collaboration with the Party Committee of Điện Biên Province, convened a gathering on Wednesday (April 17) to express gratitude to the war veterans and frontline volunteers who directly participated in the Điện Biên Phủ Campaign.

Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính delivered a speech at the gratitude meeting.

A total of 139 soldiers and youth volunteers from seven cities and provinces, including Điện Biên, Sơn La, Lai Châu, Lào Cai, Yên Bái, Hòa Bình, Hà Nội, and HCM City, along with their families, attended the event. Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính, Đỗ Văn Chiến, member of the Party Central Committee and Chairman of the Việt Nam Fatherland Front Central Committee, and Nguyễn Thị Doan, former Vice President, also joined the event.

Trần Quốc Cường, a member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the Điện Biên Provincial Party Committee, along with other provincial leaders from the Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Fatherland Front Committee of Điện Biên Province, participated in the event.

Addressing the gathering, Chairman of the Việt Nam Fatherland Front Central Committee, Đỗ Văn Chiến, reiterated the significance and role of the Điện Biên Phủ Victory. He affirmed that the Vietnamese people will forever remember the contributions of the heroic martyrs who dedicated their lives to the survival of the country. The next generations will always remember the sacrifices of the soldiers and youth volunteers who fearlessly faced dangers on the frontline.

Cường provided an overview of the province's development achievements following 70 years of liberation. He underscored the enduring significance of the Điện Biên Phủ in the nation's glorious history and collective memory.

He emphasised, "The Party committees, authorities, armed forces, and people of Điện Biên Province will continue to strive to build Điện Biên increasingly prosperous, contributing to the nation's renewal. This effort will be worthy of the trust placed by the Party and State, and the noble contributions of the heroes, martyrs, soldiers, and youth volunteers in the Điện Biên Phủ Campaign."

Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Trần Quốc Cường presented gifts to the Điện Biên soldiers and youth volunteers.

In recognition of the contributions of previous generations, Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính expressed profound gratitude and extended congratulations to all Điện Biên soldiers, youth volunteers, and those who contributed to the Điện Biên Phủ Victory.

The Prime Minister proposed that at all levels, sectors, and localities, efforts should continue to effectively implement the Party's guidelines, State policies, and laws to further strengthen support for war veterans, wounded soldiers, martyrs' families, and revolution contributors.

PM Chính, accompanied by central and provincial leaders, presented gifts to Điện Biên soldiers and youth volunteers during the event.
