Border Guard Political Commissar Nguyễn Anh Tuấn visits and works in Điện Biên Province

ĐBP — On October 15, a delegation from the Border Guard Party Committee and Command visited and worked at the Mường Pồn and Mường Mươn border guard stations under the Điện Biên Provincial Border Guard.

The delegation was led by Lieutenant General Nguyễn Anh Tuấn, Party Committee Secretary and Political Commissar of the Border Guard. He was accompanied by Major General Trần Văn Bừng, Political Chairman of the Border Guard.

At Mường Pồn Border Guard Station, after reviewing the unit’s report on the situation and their achievements during the first nine months of 2024, Lieutenant General Tuấn acknowledged and praised the significant accomplishments of the officers and soldiers.

The most notable achievements included safeguarding national border sovereignty and security, strengthening the people’s border defense, and building a strong and transparent Party organisation.

The station’s officers and soldiers have demonstrated unity and a competitive spirit in fulfilling their tasks.

In particular, they actively contributed to assisting the local population in recovering from the flash floods that struck Mường Pồn Commune, Điện Biên District, at the end of July.

Their efforts were highly appreciated by the officers, Party members, and the local community.

The Border Guard Political Commissar urged the Party Committee and commanders to consistently focus on improving both the material and spiritual well-being of officers and soldiers, while also taking responsibility for building a strong and cohesive unit.

Simultaneously, they were advised to promote socio-economic development in border areas, strengthen national defense and security, actively participate in poverty reduction, establish new rural areas, and enhance the people’s border defense posture.

During his visit to the Mường Mươn Border Guard Station, Lieutenant General Tuấn affirmed that the unit’s achievements had made significant contributions to local authorities, agencies, departments, and organisations in the area.

Their efforts have maintained stability in all areas and created the momentum needed to achieve the station's set goals and tasks.

The Border Guard Political Commissar expressed hope that the station would continue to uphold its heroic traditions, excel in political, ideological, and traditional education for officers and soldiers, and remain effective in fighting all forms of crime. The unit is also expected to build a clean and strong Party organisation, strengthen the unit’s overall capacity, and firmly safeguard sovereignty, territorial integrity, and border security.
