Điện Biên’s Department of Agriculture and Rural Development holds tree planting festival

ĐBP - On February 5, at the Agricultural Extension and Plant & Animal Breeding Center (C2 Team, Yên Trường Hamlet, Thanh Yên Commune, Điện Biên District), the Điện Biên Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development launched the “Forver Grateful to Uncle Hồ” tree planting festival.

Attending the event were Mr. Lò Văn Phương, Member of the Standing Board of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Council, and Mr. Lò Văn Tiến, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee.

Mr. Lò Văn Phương, Mr. Lò Văn Tiến and other delegates plant trees.

The “Forever Grateful to Uncle Hồ” tree planting festival has become a meaningful program, organized annually by the provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to mark the arrival of new spring. The event encourages tree planting movement across the sector while spreading a strong environmental protection message to all officials, civil servants, and workers, following President Hồ Chí Minh’s teaching “Spring is the season for tree planting, making the country greener and greener.”

Delegates water a tree.

This initiative also effectively implements the directive of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development on the “Forever Grateful to Uncle Hồ” tree planting festival for the 2025 Lunar New Year - Ất Tỵ, contributing to sustainable forest management, protection, and development in this year. It aims to build a green, clean, and beautiful environment for future generations while upholding the fine tradition of the agricultural sector. At the same time, it also serves as an opportunity for officials, civil servants, and workers to start the New Year with enthusiasm and determination to successfully achieve the targets and tasks set for 2025.

Officials of the provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development respond to the festival.

After the launching ceremony, leaders of the provincial People’s Council and People’s Committee, along with officials, civil servants, and workers from the provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, planted 80 trees (30 black canarium trees, 30 dracontomelon trees, and 20 Thai jackfruit trees) within premises of the department’s Agricultural Extension and Plant & Animal Breeding Center.
