Điện Biên Đông District honours prestigious individuals, exemplary village elders, village chiefs, and clan leaders

ĐBP – On the morning of October 23, the Điện Biên Đông District People’s Committee held a ceremony to recognise and honour respected individuals, outstanding village elders, village chiefs, and clan leaders from various ethnic groups in the district.

Acting Secretary of the Điện Biên Đông District Party Committee Bùi Ngọc La and Deputy Director of the Điện Biên Provincial Police Giàng Páo Sính present symbols to prestigious people, exemplary village elders, village chiefs and clan leaders.

This year, Điện Biên Đông District has 194 recognised prestigious individuals within the ethnic group community. Over the years, outstanding individuals, village elders, and village chiefs have set strong examples of solidarity, mutual support, and self-improvement through labour, production, and legitimate economic advancement.
These leaders have been at the forefront of researching and implementing innovative, effective production and business methods to tap into the district's land and climate potential. They actively apply science and technology in livestock farming and manufacturing, increasing income for themselves, their families, and the wider community. Additionally, they provide guidance and assistance to poor and disadvantaged households, offering effective economic strategies.
As a vital link between ethnic communities and local Party committees and authorities, these individuals help convey the aspirations of ethnic groups, support grassroots democracy, and contribute to the successful implementation of socio-economic policies. They have played a crucial role in ensuring national defence, preserving cultural traditions, and building trust in the Party, State, and Government among ethnic communities.

Speaking at the conference, Deputy Chairman of the Điện Biên Đông District People's Committee, Nguyễn Văn Tăng, expressed deep respect and appreciation for the exemplary individuals among the ethnic communities. He praised the remarkable efforts of prestigious individuals, village elders, village chiefs, and clan leaders, highlighting their patriotism, love for their homeland, tireless dedication, ongoing self-improvement, and strong sense of responsibility towards the people, community, and society.

At the event, the Điện Biên Đông District People's Committee awarded 15 certificates of merit to outstanding individuals for their exceptional contributions. Additionally, the Điện Biên Provincial Việt Nam Fatherland Front Committee presented five gifts to five distinguished individuals in the district.
