Điện Biên Province attends int’l handicrafts fair in India

ĐBP - From February 14 to 17, a delegation from Điện Biên Province, led by Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Vừ A Bằng, took part in the 38th Surajkund Mela International Handicrafts Fair in Surajkund, Faridabad, Haryana, India.

As part of the Surajkund Fair, the Điện Biên delegation, along with artisans and performers, made a courtesy visit to the Vietnamese Embassy in New Delhi, India. They also honored President Hồ Chí Minh with an incense and floral offering at G20 Park in New Delhi.

The artisans and performers from Điện Biên participated in cultural exchanges and delivered engaging performances, showcasing Điện Biên’s culture, tourism, and heritage to an international audience. Their performances received high praise from organizers and drew enthusiastic support from local audiences and tourists.

The fair was co-organized by a coalition of ministries this year, including the Ministries of Tourism and Culture, External Affairs, and Textiles, in collaboration with the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) and the Government of Haryana.

Reportedly, it draws participants from more than 30 countries, showcasing traditional craftsmanship, textiles, cultural heritage, and cuisine from India and around the world.
