At the Hill E2 relic, Điện Biên Phủ ward - one of the high points with an important position in the Điện Biên Phủ Battlefield complex, the investment project to build the President Hồ Chí Minh Memorial House and invest in supplementing some items is being implemented urgently. With a total investment of VND 35 billion, the project is designed synchronously and solemnly, including items such as: President Hồ Chí Minh Memorial House; left pavilion, right pavilion; ceremonial gate; relic stele; relic sign and auxiliary items, ensuring both honoring historical values and harmonizing with the existing landscape and relic space. In which, the Memorial House is gradually forming as a convergence point of historical memories and settled emotions; is an important highlight, contributing to improving the quality and depth for Điện Biên historical tourism towards sustainability, worthy of the value of the Điện Biên Phủ Victory in national and world history.
Nguyễn Anh Đạo, Director of the Điện Biên provincial Relics Management Board, said: “To ensure the work is completed on schedule, meeting high requirements for quality, technique, and historical value, recently, the Board has coordinated closely with the consulting unit, contractors, and related agencies, timely removing difficulties and obstacles during construction, while strictly controlling each construction item. Up to now, the project has completed over 70% of the volume.”
From 2021 to now, Điện Biên province has focused resources to deploy and complete many key projects on preservation, embellishment, and promotion of historical relic values, such as: Project on renovation and repair of works and relic sites serving the 70th Anniversary of the Điện Biên Phủ Victory; project on installing artistic lighting systems at Hill A1 and Hill D1 relics belonging to the Điện Biên Phủ Battlefield complex...
Projects are deployed in the direction of preserving original values, respecting historical factors, while applying modern technical and artistic solutions to improve experiences for people and tourists. After completion and being put into use, the works have created a spacious and synchronous appearance for the relic system. Thereby, better meeting the needs of visiting, researching, and educating revolutionary traditions of the People and tourists, contributing to improving the quality of tourism services, increasing the attractiveness of historical destinations.
Recently, the Điện Biên provincial Relics Management Board has built many check-in points at a number of relic sites: Hill A1, De Castries Bunker, Điện Biên Phủ Campaign Command Headquarters, and Điện Biên Phủ Victory Monument. The formation of check-in points is carefully researched regarding content, images, and spatial layout, ensuring harmony with the existing landscape.
Lương Hoài Thu, a tourist from Lâm Đồng province, said: “I am very impressed with the way check-in points are arranged at Điện Biên relics. When coming to Hill A1, De Castries Bunker, and the Điện Biên Phủ Campaign Command Headquarters in Mường Phăng, we stopped to record memorable moments, bringing rich and emotional experiences during the sightseeing journey”.
According to the plan, Điện Biên province continues to synchronously deploy many projects to preserve, embellish, and promote the value of the Điện Biên Phủ Battlefield complex, such as: Project on zoning for protection, planting markers, site clearance, granting Land Use Right Certificates at relic sites belonging to the Special National Monument Điện Biên Phủ Battlefield; Project on Preservation and Embellishment of the Center of Điện Biên Phủ Stronghold Group, combined with renovating the green tree system at Hill Him Lam, Hill C1, Hill C2, Hill F relic sites...
Trần Hải Hà, Acting Director of the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, affirmed: “Investment in promoting relic values will be closely linked to tourism development, with the focus being the Điện Biên Phủ Battlefield complex. Tourism development activities at historical relic sites will be deployed in a green, smart, and sustainable direction, ensuring harmony between preserving historical values, environmental landscapes, and tourists’ experience needs”.
