In 2024, Mường Nhé District achieved significant progress, with an estimated total production value of VNĐ1.9 trillion (US$74.7 million) at current prices, marking a 17.4 per cent increase compared to 2023.
The district's economic structure saw positive changes, with a gradual increase in the share of industry, construction, trade, and services, alongside a reduction in the proportion of agriculture, forestry, and fisheries. Grain production rose by 14.5 per cent, while livestock herds grew by 6.8 per cent.
Development projects funded by national target programmes were actively implemented. The district maintained stable political security, social order, and safety, ensuring the protection of border markers and national sovereignty.
As of 15 November, the district had disbursed 42.48 per cent of its allocated public investment funds. However, disbursement levels for several projects remained low.
Mường Nhé District has requested provincial authorities and related departments to allocate sufficient mid-term public investment funds for 2021–2025, prioritising district-managed local budget balances. The district also sought funding for infrastructure improvements and the upgrading of National Highway 4H.
During the working session with Mường Nhé District, representatives from provincial departments clarified several issues, including housing and production land for ethnic minorities, unresolved land allocation for public investment projects, district budget revenue and expenditure, and the disbursement rates for national target programmes.
Vice Chairman Vừ A Bằng urged Mường Nhé District to continue mobilising and integrating resources to promote production, emphasising the effective implementation of livelihood diversification projects under national target programmes.
He also called for a review of the district's performance indicators for the current term and the development of specific tasks and solutions for 2025 to meet set targets. Regular inspection, supervision, and strict management of construction progress and quality were also emphasised.
The same day, Vice Chairman Vừ A Bằng and the working group inspected the progress of the A Pa Chải Flagpole project and the Nậm Là Reservoir project.
On the occasion of the 42nd anniversary of Việt Nam Teachers' Day (November 20, 1982 – November 20, 2024), Vice Chairman Vừ A Bằng presented gifts and awarded the Provincial People's Committee’s Outstanding Emulation Flag to Leng Su Sìn Semi-Boarding Primary School for Ethnic Minorities in Mường Nhé District.
