ĐBP – Vice Chairman of the Điện Biên Provincial People's Committee, Vừ A Bằng, visited Mường Nhé District on Monday, leading a provincial working group to review progress, address obstacles, and push for faster disbursement of public investment funds for 2024.

Vice Chairman Vừ A Bằng delivers concluding remarks during the working session with Mường Nhé District leaders.

In 2024, Mường Nhé District achieved significant progress, with an estimated total production value of VNĐ1.9 trillion (US$74.7 million) at current prices, marking a 17.4 per cent increase compared to 2023.

The district's economic structure saw positive changes, with a gradual increase in the share of industry, construction, trade, and services, alongside a reduction in the proportion of agriculture, forestry, and fisheries. Grain production rose by 14.5 per cent, while livestock herds grew by 6.8 per cent.

Development projects funded by national target programmes were actively implemented. The district maintained stable political security, social order, and safety, ensuring the protection of border markers and national sovereignty.

As of 15 November, the district had disbursed 42.48 per cent of its allocated public investment funds. However, disbursement levels for several projects remained low.

Mường Nhé District has requested provincial authorities and related departments to allocate sufficient mid-term public investment funds for 2021–2025, prioritising district-managed local budget balances. The district also sought funding for infrastructure improvements and the upgrading of National Highway 4H.

Mường Nhé District leaders clarify several issues during the working session.

During the working session with Mường Nhé District, representatives from provincial departments clarified several issues, including housing and production land for ethnic minorities, unresolved land allocation for public investment projects, district budget revenue and expenditure, and the disbursement rates for national target programmes.
