Strengthening Party organizations in Mường Mươn

ĐBP - The Party Committee of Mường Mươn commune (Mường Chà district, Điện Biên province) consists of 18 affiliated branches with nearly 300 party members, including 11 rural branches. Recognizing the importance of the task of Party building, the Party Committee of Mường Mươn commune focuses on enhancing the leadership capacity, fighting strength, and quality of Party organizations and members through specific solutions tailored to the local reality.

In the context of the commune, where the majority of the population are ethnic minority groups (Mông, Khơ Mú, Thái...), some areas have people practicing different religions, and the literacy rate is uneven, the economy is still facing significant challenges, making it difficult to develop party membership. Given these circumstances, the communal Party Committee has issued resolutions, plans, and set specific targets for each branch, while also sending officials directly to the grassroots to guide and resolve issues.

Phạm Ngọc Thọ, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Mường Mươn commune, stated: “We recognize that building a clean, strong Party organization with comprehensive leadership and high fighting capacity is an important and urgent task. Most of the Party organizations have maintained and promoted their core political role at the grassroots level; leading officials, party members, and people to implement the Party’s policies, State laws, and directives from higher levels; effectively carrying out political tasks, specialized work in localities, agencies, and units. Particularly, the Party Committee focuses on strengthening the quality of branch activities and increasing the close relationship between the Party and the people, while effectively developing party membership.”

During this term, the Party Committee of Mường Mươn commune has admitted 121 new party members, removed a village without party members, and established one private economy branch at Huổi Vang Hydropower. Specifically, in 2024, the commune has admitted 18 new party members. Along with recruiting in easier-to-access areas, the commune has also placed special emphasis on religious areas, remote regions, and hard-to-reach places to ensure the sustainability of Party building.

Party members of the Huổi Meo village’s Party cell (Mường Mươn commune) conduct political and ideological education for youth in the area.

At Huổi Nhả village, a remote area of the commune with a large population following a different religion, party membership development still faces many difficulties. Despite the local people actively participating in economic development movements and maintaining security, due to the limited awareness of the role of the Party, and many young people migrating for work, recruitment has been challenging.

Ly A Bản, Secretary of the Huổi Nhả village’s Party cell, said: “To effectively develop the Party, each party member must be exemplary, close to the people, and willing to guide them. We also persistently explain the importance of joining the Party to the locals, selecting responsible, active individuals to train.”

The Púng Giắt village’s Party cell is committed to improving the quality of branch activities, focusing on selecting content that suits the local reality and closely linking Party work with community movements. During regular meetings, the branch has discussed practical issues such as preventing cattle from being kept under the house, forest fire prevention, and creating sources for developing new party members. All party members actively contribute their ideas, showing responsibility and dedication to the community.

Lò Văn Chơ, Secretary of the Púng Giắt village’s Party cell, said: “In previous years, the living conditions of the local people were very difficult, with low levels of awareness, and people were not applying scientific techniques to agricultural production. Social problems were complex, leading to high poverty rates every year. After the branch was established, we quickly understood the people’s aspirations and requested help from the authorities. At the same time, we focused on raising awareness about the significance and responsibility of party membership.” The branch currently has 24 members, many of whom are young members and women.

The work of inspecting, supervising, and guiding the establishment of strong, clean Party organizations has been strengthened. The evaluation and classification of Party organizations and members have been appropriately prioritized and increasingly deepened. “In the coming time, the Party Committee of Mường Mươn commune will continue to build on the results achieved, maintain the principles of democratic centralism, promote solidarity, and focus on strengthening, improving the leadership capacity and fighting strength of Party organizations. We will continue to innovate political and ideological education in a practical, effective way to help officials, party members, and people fully understand and implement the Party’s guidelines, the State’s policies, and laws,” emphasized Phạm Ngọc Thọ, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Mường Mươn commune.
