Journalists in Điện Biên learn and follow Uncle Hồ

ĐBP - Along with the flow of Vietnam revolutionary press, journalists in Điện Biên province have always made efforts to study, strive, and learn from Uncle Hồ through specific actions by fulfilling their duties and political responsibilities. Each person holding a pen constantly hones their will, strengthens political beliefs, remains absolutely loyal to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the people, and lives and works responsibly with themselves and society.

As the agency of the provincial Party Committee, the voice of the Party, government, and people of all ethnic groups in Điện Biên, the Điện Biên Phủ Newspaper has now been established and developed for 61 years. Throughout its development journey, the journalists of the province’s Party newspaper have continuously learned from and followed the journalistic style of President Hồ Chí Minh, emphasizing the self-discipline of ethics, work habits, social responsibility, and the civic duties of journalists. The communication work has been prioritized, with the Điện Biên Phủ Newspaper consistently maintaining columns such as “Learning and Following the Ideology, Morality, and Style of Hồ Chí Minh,” “Good People, Good Deeds,” “Bright Examples from the Highland Regions,” and so on.

Since 2016, the Điện Biên Phủ Newspaper has published over 5,689 news articles and images promoting “Learning and Following the Ideology, Morality, and Style of Hồ Chí Minh” across all fields including economics, culture, society, and national defense-security. It has also published 3,063 news articles and images on the Điện Biên Phủ Newspaper fanpage and YouTube channel, which have been widely welcomed by readers and received positive feedback. In particular, in response to the campaign to create and promote literary, artistic, and journalistic works on the theme “Learning and Following the Ideology, Morality, and Style of Hồ Chí Minh,” each year, the Điện Biên Phủ Newspaper has published hundreds of journalistic works reflecting good people, good deeds, and role models who follow Hồ Chí Minh’s teachings, spreading widely to readers.

After over 10 years in the profession, reporter Phạm Văn Quang from the Electronic Newspaper Division of the Điện Biên Phủ Newspaper has not hesitated to face difficulties, traveling to remote villages and border areas to gather information and bring timely, accurate updates to readers through journalistic works. Reporter Phạm Văn Quang shared: “The journalism profession has brought me many practical experiences. Along with my responsibilities, I always strive to build my political beliefs and ethics as instructed by Uncle Hồ. After each trip, the journalistic works produced are a source of pride, a culmination of hard work and passion for the profession.”

Journalist Trần Thu Hằng from the Điện Biên Phủ Newspaper, works at Nà Bủng commune, Nậm Pồ district.

Learning from Uncle Hồ through specific actions, the team of journalists in Điện Biên has overcome the challenges of a mountainous, border province. Journalists have not been afraid of hardship, reaching deep into remote areas and borders to ensure quick, accurate, objective information, bringing the voice, aspirations, and needs of the people to the government. At the same time, they have identified and praised outstanding collectives and individuals, encouraging ethnic groups to actively participate in movements for labor, production, socio-economic development, and national security.

To create high-quality, attractive programs, reporter Lê Dung from the provincial Radio and Television shared: “I have actively studied and gained practical experience, learned from colleagues, improved my professional skills, and changed my approach to television journalism. The joy when my ‘mental children’ are welcomed by readers motivates me to overcome difficulties. Furthermore, visiting remote villages, reflecting, and sharing the difficulties of the people is not just a job, it is a responsibility and emotion for journalists.”

Not only journalists in Điện Biên, but also the resident reporters of central press agencies in the heroic Điện Biên are tirelessly contributing to ensuring the flow of information to the public. With responsibility and passion for the profession, they have produced impressive, multi-dimensional journalistic works, making significant contributions to the province’s communication efforts. Journalist Vũ Lợi from the Voice of Vietnam in the Northwestern region at Điện Biên shared: “In Điện Biên, each locality has its own mark, its unique and attractive culture. Every field trip brings a new experience, helping me create works that reflect the true lives of the people. With responsibility and passion for my profession, I always strive to self-learn, update knowledge and skills to complete my tasks well.”

In line with the flow of revolutionary Vietnamese journalism, in the process of building and growing, the press in Điện Biên has made rapid progress both in terms of quantity and quality. Currently, the province has 3 press agencies, 13 representative offices, and nearly 200 reporters working directly in communication and journalism. The press agencies have adhered to their guiding principles, effectively acting as a tool to bring the Party’s, State’s, and province’s policies and guidelines to the people, through which it has encouraged and mobilized officials, party members, and the people to strive to implement the Party’s policies in real life.

Every journalist in Điện Biên has always strived to cultivate their professional ethics, maintain a strong political stance, be ethical and clear in their living, and be sharp in their professional expertise. They reflect the truth, distinguishing right from wrong, avoiding exaggeration or negativity, fulfilling their mission to guide public opinion, protect good values, and contribute to safeguarding the ideological foundation of the Party in the current period.

With the spirit of learning and following Uncle Hồ, journalists in Điện Biên continue to uphold “bright eyes, clear hearts, sharp pens,” truly being the vanguard soldiers in the Party’s ideological and cultural front, dedicated and committed to serving the country, serving the people, building a professional, humane, modern revolutionary press, contributing to the development of Điện Biên in a sustainable and rapid manner.
