Điện Biên active in following President Hồ Chí Minh’s example

ĐBP - In recent years, Điện Biên province has actively promoted the movement to study and follow President Hồ Chí Minh’s ideology, ethics, and lifestyle through practical and concrete actions. The campaign has delivered positive results and had a broad impact across society. Notably, more and more exemplary models and initiatives have emerged, contributing to socio-economic development and to building a clean, strong Party and political system.

In implementing Conclusion No.01-KL/TW on continuing Directive No.05-CT/TW of the 12th Politburo, the Standing Board of the provincial Party Committee has identified breakthrough areas to focus on for leadership and direction. These are aimed at creating clear and tangible changes in how Hồ Chí Minh’s thought and values are learned and applied. Party committees at all levels have built plans and organized thematic study programs for the full term and for 2024 while also integrating key Party resolutions, including Resolution No.4 (terms XI, XII) and Conclusion No.21-KL/TW (term XIII), in ways tailored to the reality of each agency or locality.

The 2024 study theme has been implemented in a variety of formats: leadership briefings, online conferences, and combined meetings that also deploy other directives and resolutions. All Party organizations and agencies have consistently included the study theme in their regular meetings, connecting theory to practice.

Điện Biên has shown strong innovation and initiative in implementing this campaign. Leadership has followed the approach of “the Party goes first, cadres and Party members lead by example,” especially in difficult areas, to mobilize broader public participation.

Residents of Đệ Tinh 2 village, Phìn Hồ commune (Nậm Pồ district), are actively engaged in economic development and sustainable poverty reduction.

One standout effort is the provincial People’s Committee’s launch of a public information section on its official web portal to increase transparency in handling citizen complaints and denunciations. The site publishes the monthly citizen-reception schedules of leaders of the Standing Boards of the provincial Party Committee, of the provincial People’s Council and the provincial People’s Committee, and National Assembly delegates of the province, as well as updates on complaint resolutions. Authorities at all three levels are also instructed to maintain regular citizen reception, helping to reduce prolonged and escalated complaints, boost public trust in government, and ensure political and social stability. Administrative reform efforts have also shown strong results.

Party organizations, the Fatherland Front, and mass socio-political organizations have integrated the campaign into patriotic emulation movements and local development drives. For instance, the Nậm Pồ district’s Party Committee launched initiatives such as “One good deed a day,” “Volunteer weekends,” and the “121 grassroots-level mass mobilization teams”. The Điện Biên district’s Party Committee has promoted the “Excellent cell secretary, four-good Party cells” program, while Mường Nhé district introduced the “No rest for the land” movement. These initiatives have received enthusiastic support from officials, Party members, soldiers, youths, and the broader public, providing a strong boost to rural development and socio-economic progress.

Leaders at all levels in the province have developed personal action plans aligned with their duties, showing strong commitment to reform, creativity, accountability, and leading by example. Many have embraced a working style close to the people, “Putting words into action”, proactively engaging in dialogue and resolving citizens’ concerns. These efforts have fostered greater public approval and contributed to a shift in ethical behavior, revolutionary morality, and the fight against individualism, opportunism, and moral decay.

The provincial Party Committee also continues to promote the replication of effective models and registration of new initiatives. Over the past year, the province has developed numerous learning-from-Uncle Hồ models across areas such as economic development, social welfare, and charity work. Examples include strawberry and passion fruit farming in Trung Thu and Tả Phìn communes, cage fish farming in Huổi Só (Tủa Chùa district), supporting poor and near-poor households  (Điện Biên district), community tourism in Tù lu Tìa ló (Noong U commune), circular economy-based livestock farming in Phì Nhừ commune (Điện Biên Đông district).

These models have spread widely across Party cells, agencies, and residential communities, becoming goals for personal growth among Party members and citizens, while fostering a strong spirit of emulation in production and Party-building efforts.

In Nà Hỳ 1 village, Nà Hỳ commune (Nậm Pồ district), the transformation is clear: improved infrastructure, better roads, schools, and rising living standards. This change stems from the local community’s deep commitment to following Uncle Hồ’s example.

Tao Văn Phóng, Party Secretary of the Nà Hỳ 1 village’s Party cell, shared: “By studying and following Uncle Hồ’s example, our villagers have united, leveraged internal resources, and contributed labor, money, and land to build welfare projects. Most importantly, people have shifted their mindset, applying science and technology in farming and creating new livelihood models. Today, 100% of households in the village have escaped poverty.”

The practical implementation of this campaign across Điện Biên has strengthened unity and trust between the people and Party committees and local governments, laying a solid foundation for achieving socio-economic development goals and building a fast-developing, sustainable province.
