Accompanying the Deputy Prime Minister was Lò Văn Tiến, vice chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.
During his visit to the affected areas of Tin Tốc, Lĩnh, and Mường Pồn 1 villages, Deputy Prime Minister Quang urged the Điện Biên Provincial People's Committee, relevant departments, and armed forces to expedite relief efforts, arrange relocation sites, and stabilise the lives of residents in the flood and landslide-affected areas.
He also emphasised the need for close monitoring of disaster developments and urged prompt and effective implementation of response measures.
Local authorities should enhance public awareness and decisively relocate families still in high-risk landslide zones to ensure their safety.
Following the floods, which have impacted public health, he stressed the importance of increasing medical measures to ensure proper care for residents, particularly the elderly and children.
Deputy PM Quang also advised the Điện Biên District People's Committee to assess and support relief for agricultural lands affected by the disaster. For areas that cannot be quickly restored, alternative crops should be considered to provide residents with means for continued production.
Additionally, he reminded the provincial Department of Transport to focus on ensuring safe traffic on National Highway 12 through Mường Pồn Commune and to address any high-risk areas promptly, given the ongoing complex weather conditions.
On the same day, Deputy Prime Minister Quang visited and presented gifts to heavily-affected families in Tin Tốc, Lĩnh, and Mường Pồn villages. He expressed his sympathy for their losses and encouraged them to overcome the challenges and rebuild their lives.
