Deputy PM Bùi Thanh Sơn extends Tết greetings in Điện Biên

ĐBP - On the afternoon of January 21, on the occasion of the 2025 Lunar New Year (Tết) holiday, Deputy Prime Minister Bùi Thanh Sơn, a member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and his delegation visited and presented gifts to SOS Children’s Village Điện Biên Phủ, the provincial General Social Welfare Center, Điện Biên soldiers, Party members with 70 years of Party membership or more, policy beneficiary families, workers, and disadvantaged households in the province.

Accompanying the delegation were Điện Biên Province’s leaders, including Mr. Trần Quốc Cường, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee; Mr. Lê Thành Đô, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee; Mr. Mùa A Vảng, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Member of the provincial Party Standing Committee, Chairman of the provincial Việt Nam Fatherland Front Committee; as well as other representatives from the provincial People’s Council, People’s Committee, and the provincial Delegation of National Assembly deputies.

During his visit to SOS Children’s Village Điện Biên Phủ and the provincial General Social Welfare Center, Deputy Prime Minister Bùi Thanh Sơn and the delegation were briefed on the operational status, advantages, and especially the challenges faced by these units.

The Deputy Prime Minister offered words of encouragement and Tết greetings, urging local authorities to continue prioritizing care for orphans and vulnerable children, ensuring they have better lives and opportunities to overcome hardships.

Expressing gratitude and pride, Deputy Prime Minister Bùi Thanh Sơn met with Điện Biên soldiers, senior Party members with over 70 years of Party membership, and policy beneficiary families.

As he personally handed out gifts to veteran Party members and families of those who contributed to the national revolutionary cause, the Deputy Prime Minister called on Điện Biên Province’s Party committees, authorities, and people to effectively implement social welfare policies. He emphasized that this is both a responsibility and a deed of gratitude toward those who dedicated themselves to the struggle for national liberation and the defense of the homeland.

Additionally, the Deputy Prime Minister presented 400 gifts to workers and disadvantaged residents in the province. He encouraged them to stay optimistic, adhere to the Party’s guidelines and the State’s policies and laws, and redouble their efforts in poverty alleviation to join the nation in entering a new era of progress and development.
