ĐBP – On January 10, Mr. Trần Quốc Cường, Member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the Điện Biên Province’s Party Committee, and leaders of the provincial Inspection Committee and Internal Affairs Committee, co-chaired a conference to review inspection, supervision, internal affairs, corruption and wastefulness prevention and control, and judicial reform work in 2024 and roll out tasks for 2025.

The conference was attended by Mr. Lê Thành Đô, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, among others.

Mr. Trần Quốc Cường addresses the conference.

In 2024, inspection committees at all levels advised Party committees on directing, disseminating, and implementing resolutions, directives, conclusions, and instructions from the Party Central Committee, the Politburo, the Secretariat, and the Central Inspection Committee regarding Party inspection, supervision, and disciplinary work. The committees comprehensively fulfilled tasks stipulated by the Party Charter, achieving 100% of the 2024 set inspection and supervision program and assignments from the Party committees. They handled a substantial workload with increasingly improved quality and effectiveness.

Last year, Party committees at all levels conducted inspections of 346 Party organizations and 939 Party members, while inspection committees at all levels inspected 410 Party organizations and 3,850 Party members. Party committees carried out thematic supervision of 247 Party organizations and 613 Party members, including 125 who were Party executive committees’ members. Coordination between inspection committees and related agencies and units in performing inspection and supervision tasks was conducted in accordance with principles, responsibilities, practical conditions, and the functions and duties of each agency and unit.

Also in 2024, Party committees, authorities, and internal affairs agencies focused on directing and effectively implementing national defense and security tasks, ensuring national security, and firmly protecting national sovereignty and territorial integrity. Efforts ensured absolute safety for key targets, delegations, Party and State leaders, and significant political, economic, cultural, and diplomatic events in the province. At the same time, the sector conducted 70 administrative inspections, while local departments and agencies carried out 83 specialized inspections involving 197 organizations and 139 individuals. Heads of Party committees at all levels held 121 scheduled citizen reception sessions, meeting with 123 citizens, and 43 unscheduled sessions, receiving 98 citizens.

Meanwhile, judicial reform has received significant attention and leadership from the provincial Party Committee, People’s Council, and People’s Committee. The Judicial Reform Steering Committees at all levels issued and implemented key programs on judicial reform for 2024. The organization of the Judicial Reform Steering Committees and judicial agencies continued to be strengthened, with an emphasis on effectively implementing Resolution No. 33/2021/QH15, dated November 12, 2021, of the National Assembly on conducting online court hearings. Working conditions and equipment for judicial agencies were also upgraded, contributing positively to anti-corruption efforts.

Leader of the provincial Border Guard Command speaks at the conference.

During the conference, delegates discussed and evaluated achievements in inspection; supervision; internal affairs; prevention and control of corruption, wastefulness, and negative phenomena; and judicial reform. Additionally, they proposed various recommendations and solutions to better execute tasks in 2025.

In his speech, Mr. Trần Quốc Cường emphasized that Party committees, Party organizations, and inspection committees at all levels must further promote the dissemination and understanding of regulations and guidances from the Central Party Committee and the Central Inspection Committee on inspection, supervision, and Party discipline. They should also prioritize efforts in inspection; supervision; internal affairs; prevention and control of corruption, wastefulness, and negative phenomena; and judicial reform.

The provincial Party Committee’s Secretary called for a thorough review, revision, and issuance of regulations, procedures, and guidelines on inspection, supervision, and Party discipline to ensure scientific, consistent, and unified implementation.

He also stressed the importance of close coordination in developing and deploying plans to maintain social order and security in the province. Special attention should be given to ensuring the absolute safety of key targets; major political, economic, cultural, and social events; and important delegations. Furthermore, security and safety must also be guaranteed for Party congresses at all levels in the lead-up to the 14th National Party Congress.

Additionally, he urged the focus on effective anti-corruption measures and the synchronized implementation of tasks to improve the quality of judicial reform.
