ĐBP - In recent years, agricultural production in Điện Biên province has been increasingly impacted by climate change. Prolonged droughts, cold spells, and frost have damaged many crops, leading to reduced yields and quality of agricultural products. In response to this, the provincial Department of Agriculture and Environment has proactively implemented a range of measures to effectively combat climate change.

ĐBP - After more than three years of implementing the National Target Program on New-style Rural Development (NRD) for the 2022 - 2025 period, according to Plan No.1986/KH-UBND issued by the Điện Biên provincial People’s Committee, initial positive changes have been observed. However, the overall progress remains slow, with many key goals yet to be achieved. In addition to the low starting point and limited resources, some localities show complacency or a lack of effort to strive for the NRD standards.

ĐBP - In recent years, aquaculture has emerged as a key economic driver in Điện Biên province, offering high income potential for local residents. Given that fish farming here largely depends on natural water bodies such as lakes and ponds, ensuring safety during the storm season is of utmost importance. As the rainy season approaches, local fish farmers have proactively implemented protective measures to minimize potential losses from natural disasters.

ĐBP - Unlike previous years, the rice harvest in Mường Pồn commune (Điện Biên district, Điện Biên province) this year has been carried out with more urgency and excitement. The rice stalks, heavy with grain, bear the sweat and labor of the farmers. The air is filled with the fragrance of newly harvested rice, and after the devastation of a flash flood, prosperity has returned to the people here.

ĐBP - Circular economy in agriculture is a closed-loop production model where waste is not discarded but reused as input material, helping reduce pollution, protect the environment, and improve public health. Điện Biên province has identified the development of a circular agricultural economy as a core pillar in its sustainable farming strategy, closely tied to science, technology, and innovation.

ĐBP - With vast tracts of land, an abundant labor force, and a strategic location in Vietnam’s Northwest region, Điện Biên province is steadily asserting itself as an attractive destination for investors. In recent years, the provincial government has rolled out a comprehensive set of measures aimed at improving the investment climate, creating favorable conditions for private sector development, driving economic growth, improving living standards, and unlocking the province’s inherent strengths.

ĐBP - To promote social and economic development and reduce poverty, improving transportation infrastructure is crucial. Recognizing this, Tủa Chùa district, Điện Biên province has dedicated significant resources to enhancing its road network, particularly the inter-communal and inter-village roads.

ĐBP - In line with the policy of streamlining administrative bodies, improving the efficiency and effectiveness of operations, and eliminating the district-level government structure, localities in Điện Biên province are speeding up the progress of major projects. Many of these projects aim to be completed before the district-level government structure is removed, ensuring the timely completion of public investment projects and laying a solid foundation for future development.

ĐBP - In recent days, the issue of counterfeit goods, low-quality products, and food with unclear origins has gained significant attention, especially after a series of incidents involving the sale, transportation, and storage of such goods. In Điện Biên province, the provincial Department of Health conducted inspections and concluded that 8 facilities were in violation, forcing them to destroy more than 200kg of goods and food with unclear origins.

ĐBP - The policy of paying for environmental services (PES) has brought significant benefits to forest owners, helping to motivate people to participate in forest protection efforts. However, the process of reviewing and determining forest areas, identifying forest owners, and creating payment maps remains a challenge, affecting the PES process.

ĐBP - In recent years, the social policy credit resource has become a powerful driver in the fight against poverty, ensuring social security in Tuần Giáo district, Điện Biên province.

ĐBP - Điện Biên province has the Mường Thanh rice field - the largest kind in the Northwestern region of Việt Nam, with a vast area and multiple microclimates, offering potential to exploit and develop a diverse agricultural sector with regionally distinctive products.

ĐBP - Administrative reform is a key factor in building a government that serves and creates a favorable business environment for people, businesses, and investment. In recent years, the Điện Biên provincial People’s Committee has implemented synchronized measures to effectively carry out administrative reform tasks, contributing to improving the effectiveness of attracting investment.

ĐBP - Implementing the New-style Rural Area Building program with the determination of local authorities and residents, Tuần Giáo district, Điện Biên province has effectively begun restructuring its agricultural sector and developing specialized coffee and macadamia cultivation areas. Local rural villages and hamlets have taken on a new appearance.

This marks the second consecutive year Tuần Giáo district has organized a launch event for planting and caring for macadamia trees.
