ĐBP - Recognizing the development of the power grid system as a vital “pioneer driver” to accelerate socio-economic growth and build new-style rural areas, communes such as Na Son, Xa Dung, Pu Nhi, Mường Luân, Phình Giàng, and Tìa Dình in Điện Biên province have focused on eliminating villages without access to the national electricity grid.

ĐBP - Assigning staff to directly inform forest owners about the benefits of receiving forest environmental service payments through bank accounts; coordinating with local authorities and banks to promote, urge, and assist forest owners in completing the bank account opening procedures… are some of the solutions that the Forest Protection and Development Fund of Điện Biên province has been promoting in recent times to increase the rate of forest environmental service (PFES) payments via bank accounts.

ĐBP - The recurring issue of “bumper harvests but low prices” for agricultural products in recent years has presented a difficult challenge regarding the output and value of agricultural products. In response, local authorities are making efforts to find sustainable solutions for the agricultural sector, focusing on crop restructuring and building effective production-consumption linkages.

ĐBP - In implementing the Agricultural Restructuring Project, in recent years, in addition to focusing on centralized production and commodity-scale farming, localities have also increasingly emphasized consumption, viewing it as a crucial link in the agricultural product value chain. Finding stable, sustainable markets not only minimizes the issue of “bumper harvests but low prices,” but also lays a solid foundation for the development of agriculture in a modern, efficient, and long-term direction.

ĐBP - In recent times, it has become quite common for small traders in Điện Biên Phủ city, Điện Biên province to return rental properties located in busy streets and commercial centers. Weak purchasing power, high rental costs, and “not enough income to cover expenses” have led many businesses to return their rental spaces, while some continue to hold out, hoping that sales will pick up towards the end of the year.

ĐBP - The National Target Program for socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas is a significant policy of the Party and the State aimed at narrowing the development gap between regions. However, in Điện Biên province, where ethnic minorities make up a large proportion of the population, the implementation of the program has faced many challenges and obstacles in its mechanisms.

ĐBP - In the context of agricultural restructuring and focusing on sustainable crop transformation, Tuần Giáo district, Điện Biên province has identified coffee as a key crop to boost the local economy. Despite limited funding, the district has flexibly mobilized internal resources, effectively utilized local assets, and gained the support of people to expand coffee cultivation.

ĐBP - Low-interest loans from the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies (VBSP) have become a powerful tool in the fight against poverty across Điện Biên province. Through various policy-based credit programs, thousands of poor and near-poor households, along with other vulnerable groups, have gained access to capital to launch production, create jobs, and improve their income.

ĐBP - Trung Thu commune (Tủa Chùa district, Điện Biên province), predominantly mountainous, relies on farming and livestock for livelihoods. In recent years, taro has taken root and developed well on the rocky terraces in this area.

ĐBP - Recently, local authorities in Điện Biên province have been intensifying efforts to monitor and regulate the market, ensuring strict enforcement of laws and preventing price speculation, hoarding, and price hikes on essential commodities, particularly food items.

ĐBP - As of June 12, farmers in Điện Biên district, Điện Biên province have harvested more than 90% of their winter-spring rice crop for 2024-2025. Unlike the usual joy and excitement during the harvest season, many farmers are ending the crop with concerns, as while the rice has been sold, the calculations show they have either broken even or even incurred losses compared to production costs.

ĐBP - With support from agricultural production programs, national target programs, and provincial and central budgets, many models and projects have been implemented to expand the area, improve the quality, and increase the value of fruit products in the province.

ĐBP - With low-interest rates and long-term loan terms, the housing support program under Government Decree No.28/2022/ND-CP, a preferential credit policy under the national target program for socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas, has, over the past three years, helped hundreds of poor households in Điện Biên district, Điện Biên province move closer to achieving their dream of safe, stable housing.
