Imprint of young party members

ĐBP - Điện Biên currently records around 162,000 Youth Union members and young people, accounting for nearly 26% of the entire provincial population.

Within this force, many party members who are also Youth Union members have boldly innovated their mindsets, selecting appropriate directions to exploit available local potentials and strengths to generate livelihoods and construct sustainable economic development models. Multiple effective models have been replicated, clearly affirming the pioneering role, shock spirit, and career-starting and entrepreneurial aspirations of Điện Biên’s youths.

Vàng A Đa, a typical example of doing good economics in Tát Hẹ village, Mường Ảng commune.

Tát Hẹ village in Mường Ảng commune is home to more than 50 households with over 230 residents from the Mông ethnic minority group. Arriving in Tát Hẹ at this time, one can see the vast green hue of coffee, macadamia, and multiple other types of fruit trees from afar. However, few people know that over 10 years ago, the lives of most households in this highland village still faced numerous hardships. Today’s transformation bears the prominent imprint of Village Head Vàng A Đa, born in 1992, a young party member who pioneered crop restructuring and spread new economic methods to local villagers.

Graduating with a major in Cultivation from Điện Biên Economic - Technical College (now Điện Biên College) in 2015 and returning to his homeland, Vàng A Đa boldly converted nearly 6 ha of low economic efficiency corn land to cultivate coffee intercropped with macadamia. Applying the correct technical workflows, the model developed stably, bringing his family an annual income of nearly VND 100 million. Driven by the achieved efficiency, he mobilized many households to participate together.

Currently, Tát Hẹ village possesses more than 100 ha of coffee, macadamia, and fruit trees, becoming a bright spot in economic development in Mường Ảng commune. Vàng A Đa shared that his family has cultivated more than 3 ha of coffee and 2 ha of macadamia. He believes that if young people want to develop the economy, they should not fear difficulties or hardships, but must always strive to rise. Vàng A Đa added that after getting married and moving out on his own, he escaped poverty by the second year, stressing that as a party member, one must set an example to mobilize local people to follow, thereby upgrading the economy of each household.

Thùng Thị Lâm (standing middle), the party member who contributed to turning Nà Sự into an attractive community tourism village in the province.

While young party member Vàng A Đa created an imprint with an agricultural development model, in the border commune of Mường Chà, Thùng Thị Lâm chose to start a career in community tourism. Exploiting advantages in natural landscapes and the traditional cultural identity of the Thái ethnic group - specifically the White Thái branch - the young female party member worked with the Party Cell and local residents to step-by-step turn Nà Sự village into an attractive stopover on the journey to conquer the westernmost point of A Pa Chải in Sín Thầu commune.

Right from the initial days of building the model in 2022, in her role as Head of the Management Team for the community tourism destination, Thùng Thị Lâm persistently mobilized households to refurbish their houses, preserve traditional stilt house architecture, and develop accommodation, culinary, and experiential services. Once the model operated stably, she and other members proactively integrated digital transformation into tourism promotion. Now, Nà Sự has become the first community tourism village in Điện Biên province to apply digitization in promotion, helping tourists easily access information regarding destinations and services.

With a methodical approach and the consensus of the entire community, Nà Sự village welcomes thousands of visitors annually for sightseeing and experiences, contributing to creating jobs and stable incomes for many local households. Thùng Thị Lâm shared that as a party member, she always determines to be exemplary and take the lead in everything, from altering awareness to working methods so that the people will trust and execute together. She noted that when the public reaches consensus to join hands in preserving cultural identities and developing tourism, residents will gain more employment, incomes will be elevated, and Nà Sự will be known and visited by more tourists, which acts as the motivation for her to keep striving and dedicating more.

Cháng A Dung, Secretary of the Party Cell of Phìn Hồ village, Si Pa Phìn commune, enriches himself from a black-bone chicken farming model.

To provide a solid anchor for the career-starting and entrepreneurial journeys of Youth Union members and young people, Youth Union echelons have promoted their accompanying role through multiple practical programs and activities. Beside effectively maintaining entrustment activities with the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies to create conditions for more than 18,500 turns of Youth Union members and youths to access preferential capital sources with a total outstanding debt of over VND 1,300 billion, the Youth Union organization also steps up technical training, supports product consumption connectivity, and replicates effective economic models. These activities add motivation for many Youth Union members and young people to boldly start businesses, develop production, and step-by-step upgrade their incomes.

Lò Xuân Hạnh, Deputy Secretary of the Điện Biên provincial Youth Union, affirmed that Youth Union members who are party members have well promoted their pioneering role in labor and production, building numerous effective economic models and spreading the spirit of self-reliance and career starting. He added that the provincial Youth Union continues to deploy capital loan support programs, technical training, and product consumption connectivity, while replicating economic models and boosting entrepreneurship and innovation linked with sustainable development.

In Điện Biên province, an increasing number of young party members are selecting to start careers from the very potentials and strengths of their homeland. Each effective economic model contributes to upgrading incomes and improving lives, while simultaneously spreading a pioneering spirit, responsibility, and dedication aspirations among the Youth Union and youth forces. Accompanied by the Youth Union organization and driven by a strong will to rise, new directions will undoubtedly open up for youths to contribute their efforts to building an increasingly developed, wealthy, beautiful, and civilized homeland.
