Joining the delegation were leaders of agencies under the National Assembly, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, and representatives of central commissions, ministries, and sectors.
On the side of Điện Biên province, attendees included Trần Tiến Dũng, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, and Head of the provincial National Assembly Deputy Delegation; members of the Standing Board of the provincial Party Committee; the Standing Board of the provincial People’s Council, leaders of the provincial People’s Committee, and the provincial Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; leaders of the provincial National Assembly Deputy Delegation; alongside leaders of provincial departments, boards, sectors, and localities.
Reporting to the delegation, the leadership of Sam Mứn Primary and Secondary Boarding School stated that in the 2026-2027 school year, the school accommodates 31 classes with 1,010 students, including 618 ethnic minority pupils; 414 students receive full boarding benefits, lodging and dining on campus, while 596 students receive semi-boarding benefits, having lunch at school. The school currently employs 66 administrators, teachers, and staff members, alongside 18 contractual workers serving security, sanitation, and catering tasks for students.
Following its commissioning, the school swiftly stabilized its organization, deploying teaching, administrative, and student care missions. Student boarding nutrition is conducted under protocols guaranteeing hygiene, nutrition, and food safety. Alongside academic instruction, the school emphasizes life skills education, nurturing self-discipline and self-management to help students form structured study and living habits in a boarding environment.
Through practical inspections, Đỗ Văn Chiến recognized and commended the collective efforts of administrators, teachers, and staff in quickly receiving and operating the physical facilities, stabilizing teaching and learning activities, and creating superior conditions for border students to study and live.
Đỗ Văn Chiến expressed the hope that a boarding educational environment must help students study better, cultivate finer discipline, and develop comprehensively. To realize this goal, he requested the School Management Board to design a scientific schedule harmonizing academic study, rest, and extracurricular activities; and pay attention to organizing cultural, artistic, and physical education and sports activities tailored to the aptitudes and talents of individual students.
In particular, the school needs to emphasize educating and preserving traditional cultural identity, considering invitations to folk artisans to transmit folk songs, folk dances, and ethnic musical instruments, thereby helping students develop their talents and deepen their understanding of and pride in their ethnic cultures.
Sharing his thoughts with the teaching staff, Permanent Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Đỗ Văn Chiến emphasized that teaching and nurturing boarding students demands elevated dedication and responsibility. Because most students are young and living away from their families, they deeply require the affection and closeness of teachers. He expressed hope that every cadre and teacher will dedicate love, frequently listening to, sharing with, and caring for students with heartfelt responsibility, so the school truly becomes their second home.
Cordially inquiring after the living and learning conditions of the students, Đỗ Văn Chiến reminded them to foster self-discipline, solidarity, and diligence, actively studying and cultivating all-around virtues across morality, intellect, physical fitness, and aesthetics. He urged them to make good use of the boarding facilities to achieve higher academic results, worthy of the care shown by the Party, State, teachers, and families, striving to become useful citizens and contributing to the development of their homeland Điện Biên.
On this occasion, Permanent Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Đỗ Văn Chiến presented gifts to the school, toured classrooms and the kitchen, and planted a commemorative tree on the campus of Sam Mứn Primary and Secondary Boarding School.
