Through practical deeds, they not only lead communities in economic development and living standard improvement, but also contribute to safeguarding border security and consolidating a robust grassroots-level political system, ensuring the Party’s guidelines increasingly permeate practical life.
Arriving at Nà Khuyết village, Mường Chà commune, and asking about Party member Poòng Văn Nghiệp, villagers speak of a diligent, inquisitive individual who boldly adopted science and technology into production and husbandry to escape poverty and stabilize his livelihood. Starting with modest capital in 2019, Nghiệp established a wild beekeeping model with just two colonies. From initial steps, he persevered in learning, accumulating experience, and progressively scaling up operations, carving out an economic development path well-suited to his household conditions.
Nghiệp shared: “Beekeeping demands patience, meticulous care, and technical mastery. Colony inspections must be gentle and careful, minimizing disturbances to the hive; concurrently, proactive cooling and warming measures must be applied depending on weather conditions. Keepers must also master techniques for splitting colonies, breeding queen bees, and harvesting honey, royal jelly, and bee pollen to ensure hives develop vigorously with high yields.” Thanks to standardized technical care, Nghiệp’s colonies thrive stably, generating an annual income of nearly VND 100 million.
Going beyond household economic advancement, Nghiệp and local households sharing a passion and experience in apiculture established the Chà Nưa Wild Beekeeping Cooperative. To date, the cooperative comprises 11 members maintaining approximately 200 wild honeybee colonies, annually harvesting 700-800 liters of honey and securing stable incomes for members. Building on these initial outcomes, Chà Nưa honey was developed locally into a 3-star OCOP product, step-by-step elevating the value of signature produce and expanding economic development avenues for residents.
Refusing to resign himself to barren land and difficult living conditions, Party member Lò Văn Chơi in Si Pa Phìn commune persistently reclaimed hillside slopes, transforming challenging terrain into sustainable livelihood grounds. From raising pigs, chickens, and ducks to progressively scaling up production, he worked while exploring and studying to boost economic efficiency. Sweat shed on hillside soil has yielded sweet rewards today, as the economic model he established generates hundreds of millions of VND annually, serving as an impetus for his family to rise out of hardship and a model for fellow villagers to emulate.
Chơi shared: “As a Party member, I believe I must first set an exemplary precedent, boldly carrying out work successfully before mobilizing fellow villagers to join. Mountainous hillside soil may be difficult to cultivate, but if one puts in the effort to reclaim it, applies science and technology, and selects suitable models, economic development remains achievable. I traveled to many places to learn good practices, then returned to apply them to my household. Seeing the model prove effective, I continued expanding and sharing experience with villagers, hoping everyone gains new methods to increase income and progressively stabilize their lives.”
Secretary of the Tá Miếu village Party Cell in the border commune of Sín Thầu Chu Khai Dèn consistently stays close to the grassroots-level, frequently visiting each household to listen to thoughts and aspirations and promptly untangle difficulties, while mobilizing residents to foster economic development, build cultural life, and join hands in preserving local security and order.
“Being a Party member means one must stand in the vanguard, fearing neither hardship nor toil. For new and essential tasks, one must proactively initiate them first so villagers can witness real efficiency. When cadres and Party members match words with deeds, work genuinely, and carry tasks through to completion, only then will the people trust and consent. To mobilize villagers effectively, one must first set an example,” Chu Khai Dèn shared.
Matching words with deeds, Chu Khai Dèn did not stop at verbal mobilization, but began with his own responsibilities. Dèn invested in constructing barns, developing buffalo and cattle husbandry models. On barren hillside slopes left fallow, he boldly reclaimed land to plant over 2ha of coffee intercropped with macadamia, turning rugged plots into livelihoods. As coffee and macadamia trees took root and grew vigorously, villagers’ confidence was progressively cultivated, inspiring numerous households to boldly replicate the model and aim for stable, more prosperous lives. To date, the Party cell has stepped up outreach, encouraging residents to expand potential crops, with over 52ha of coffee intercropped with macadamia and nearly 20ha of sugarcane brought under cultivation. Through this, local livelihoods have been diversified, land-use efficiency elevated, supplementary income generated, and dependency on traditional monoculture crops reduced.
Vù Á Phù, from Tá Miếu village, shared: “Dèn did not merely carry out outreach; he worked directly, guiding villagers on planting, tending, and selecting appropriate varieties. Consequently, not only did my household plant over 1ha, but many households across the village transitioned to growing coffee and macadamia, progressively securing new economic development paths, raising income, and stabilizing livelihoods.”
Đặng Thành Huy, Secretary of the Sín Thầu commune Party Committee, noted: “The contingent of Party members across the commune consistently upholds a pioneering, exemplary spirit, using concrete actions to substantiate their words. From mobilizing residents to restructure crop patterns to advancing economic development, every Party member proactively goes first and does first, generating wide community resonance. Through this, public trust is consolidated, consensus is strengthened, and Party guidelines and resolutions penetrate deeper into practical life.”
With a pioneering and exemplary spirit, the contingent of Party members across the province in general, and across border communes in particular, has continuously concretized its role and responsibilities through practical deeds attuned to the grassroots-level. They lead the way in economic development, cultural construction, security and order maintenance, and mobilizing the people to implement Party guidelines and lines alongside State policies and laws. From these tangible actions, numerous socio-economic development movements and models have been deployed effectively, forging widespread resonance and awakening public consensus and joint efforts in fulfilling local development missions.
