Điện Biên to Conduct Well-Prepared Arrangements for the 70th Anniversary of the Điện Biên Phủ Victory

ĐBP - Trần Quốc Cường, Secretary of the Điện Biên Provincial Party Committee, commended the authorised forces and localities for successfully completing a significant amount of work in preparation for celebrating the 70th anniversary of the Điện Biên Phủ Victory despite tight financial conditions.

He expressed this praise during a discussion meeting held on Monday, focusing on various aspects of preparation for the anniversary. The meeting was conducted in collaboration with the organising committee responsible for commemorating major holidays and important historical events in the province from 2023 to 2025.

Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Trần Quốc Cường spoke at the meeting.

A representative from Điện Biên Province reported that relevant agencies and units had been directed to advise on the programme for offering incense at the A1 Martyrs Cemetery and the Temple of Martyrs at the Điện Biên Phủ battlefield, as well as organising visits to historical sites.

Concerning the commemorative ceremony and parade marking the 70th anniversary of the Điện Biên Phủ Victory, the decoration scheme has been finalised. Plans have also been developed to ensure proper sound and lighting arrangements for the ceremony and parade.

During the conference, delegates shared their opinions on the progress of urban renovation, the construction timeline of the provincial guesthouse, accommodation preparation, and provided timely guidance to prevent price increases in tourism service facilities. Additionally, they offered insights on the preparation of vehicles to welcome Party and State leaders, as well as international guests.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Lê Thành Đô reported on preparations for commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Điện Biên Phủ Victory.

In conclusion, Cường proposed that localities continue to remind residents not to burn stubble to ensure favourable conditions for aircraft landing.

He suggested that the Provincial People's Committee develop a new set of invitations and requested the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism to adjust the stadium layout based on the opinions expressed during the meeting.

Additionally, Cường proposed that the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, along with the Department of Labour, Invalids, and Social Affairs, and Điện Biên Phủ City, collaborate to develop a welcoming programme for the government delegation's visit to offer incense at the Mường Phăng historical site and the memorial area of General Võ Nguyên Giáp.
