From production, commerce, and tourism to agriculture, many young enterprises have been and are contributing to creating jobs, increasing local revenue, and spreading the spirit of startups and social responsibility.

This continues to be recognized and affirmed at the Vietnam Private Economic Forum 2026 - the local dialogue round in Điện Biên, which was recently organized with the theme “Vietnam’s Private Economy: Institutional Breakthroughs - Public-Private Synergy - Conquering the Era of Rising.” Participating in the discussion, many opinions from leaders of Điện Biên province and experts affirmed the increasingly important role of the private economic sector in socio-economic development. Notably, Điện Biên province was selected as the starting locality for the Northwestern regional dialogue series of the forum, demonstrating the development potential, contributions, as well as the rising spirit of the local young entrepreneur team.

Currently, along with the digital transformation process, green economic development, and new consumption trends, many young enterprises in the province have boldly invested in technology, expanded their business fields, improved product quality, and built their own brands. They show acumen in grasping market demands and exploiting local advantages in many fields, ranging from agriculture, education, and experiential tourism to commerce and construction, contributing to creating a dynamic face for the province’s private economic sector.

Typical among the team of young entrepreneurs is Lưu Công Ruyên, Director of Duyên Hùng Co., Ltd. in Điện Biên province, and Member of the Executive Committee of the Điện Biên Young Entrepreneurs’ Association. Starting from the field of producing and trading construction materials with about 20 different items, Lưu Công Ruyên has gradually expanded the enterprise’s operational scale, achieving a revenue of about VND 50 billion/year and creating stable jobs for over 120 local workers. The enterprise is oriented towards expanding into the field of mineral exploitation and processing to increase revenue, contribute to the state budget, and create more jobs for local workers.

Lưu Công Ruyên stated: “In the context of growing competition, if an enterprise wants to develop sustainably, it must proactively innovate its management mindset, improve product quality, and boldly apply science and technology to production. I believe that today’s enterprises must not only engage in economics but also have the responsibility to contribute to the community and the overall development of the province.”

Besides the construction sector, many young entrepreneurs in Điện Biên are making their mark by exploiting agricultural potential. Nguyễn Mỹ Linh, Director of Hương Linh Điện Biên Co., Ltd., proactively started a business with the direction of building the brand of Tủa Chùa ancient Shan Tuyết tea.

Nguyễn Mỹ Linh shared that, starting her business in 2018 when she was very young, she persistently linked with highland people to form a production, processing, and consumption chain for Shan Tuyết tea. To date, the enterprise has linked production on over 32 hectares of tea with nearly 400 households and purchased raw materials from more than 600 households in neighboring communes, creating jobs for about 1,000 workers. In business development, the unit focuses on improving product quality and applying modern processing technology. Nguyễn Mỹ Linh hopes that the enterprise’s operations can promote the value of local agricultural products while boosting the private economy tied to the sustainable livelihood development for the highland people of Tủa Chùa.

Nguyễn Đức Cường, Chairman of the Điện Biên Young Entrepreneurs Association, stated: “Currently, Điện Biên province has more than 1,700 young enterprises, mainly small and medium enterprises, of which nearly 1,000 operate regularly. This is an important force in promoting production and business, creating jobs, and increasing budget revenue for the locality. Over the past years, the province and the Điện Biên Young Entrepreneurs Association have organized many connection activities, trade promotions, and startup support, creating conditions for young entrepreneurs to exchange, learn from experiences, and expand their markets.”

Currently, Điện Biên province focuses on deploying and implementing many solutions to improve the business investment environment, accelerate administrative procedure reform, and support enterprises in accessing new mechanisms and policies in the spirit of Resolution No.68 of the Politburo on developing the private economy into an important driving force of the economy. The province promotes digital transformation, supports innovation, and encourages production linkages along the value chain, opening up many more development opportunities for the young business community in the province.

From specific production and business models to a sense of responsibility to the community, the team of young entrepreneurs in Điện Biên is increasingly affirming its pioneering role in local private economic development. With the companionship of the authorities and an increasingly improved business investment environment, the young entrepreneur force is expected to continue creating more value and positively contributing to the province’s socio-economic development in the new period.
