Total budget revenue in 2024 reaches over VNĐ 16.2 trillion

ĐBP - On the morning of January 13, the Điện Biên Province’s Department of Finance held a conference to summarize financial and budgetary work in 2024 and deploy missions in 2025. Mr. Lê Thành Đô, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, attended the event.

In 2024, the Điện Biên Province’s Department of Finance proactively proposed the provincial Party Committee, People’s Council, and People’s Committee on budget management; strictly, synchronously and effectively implemented financial-budget solutions and socio-economic development plans.

The 2024 budget collection is expected to reach over VNĐ 16.2 trillion, an increase of 14% against the previous estimate set by the provincial People’s Council.

Meanwhile, local budget allocation exceeds VNĐ 15 trillion, up 6% in comparison to the previous estimate set by the provincial People’s Council.

The total revenue to budget has contributed to ensuring the balance of allocation for the tasks that the province identified from the beginning of last year, such as development investment, salary reform, and other important missions of the province.

The management of prices, project budget settlement, financial inspection, public asset management, and corporate finance have been fully and promptly implemented.

In his speech at the conference, Mr. Lê Thành Đô, Chairman of the People’s Committee of Điện Biên Province, acknowledged and highly appreciated the achievements of the province’s financial sector in 2024.

In order to achieve the goals and plans for 2025, he asked the Điện Biên Province’s Department of Finance to promptly implement instructions and directives from the Government and the Ministry of Finance, while also enhancing coordination with agencies within the political system to give proposals to the province’s leadership.

He asked the department to further focus on 9 key solution groups and tasks of the Ministry of Finance; coordinate with the tax authorities to continue directing the review and assessment of existing revenue sources, organize new revenue sources, and identify taxable entities.

At the same time, the department should well implement the budget estimate; seriously and efficiently manage budget allocation; coordinate with departments and sectors to roll out price stabilization program; analyze and forecast market trends; effectively manage public assets; arrange and handle the assets of agencies and units after restructured and streamlined.

The Điện Biên Province’s Department of Finance work with the provincial Department of Planning and Investment to finalize the project for the restructuring and streamlining of the organizational structure as directed by the Central Party Committee.

On this occasion, the Prime Minister awarded the certificate of merit to a collective and an individual for their outstanding task performance in the 2019-2023 period; The Ministry of Public Security presented the insignia on national security protection to two individuals; and the People’s Committee of Điện Biên Province granted certificate of merit to a collective and three individuals for their excellent achievements in the emulation movement and task performance of the Điện Biên Province’s financial sector in 2024.
