Right from the beginning of the year, the party committee and authorities of Na Son commune focused on reviewing socio-economic development targets and formulating concrete plans for each respective field, while simultaneously promoting the advisory role of specialized agencies to create unity in execution.
Nguyễn Bá Thực, Head of the Na Son commune Economic Office, stated that the office advised the party committee and authorities to build execution plans for the socio-economic targets and indicators assigned by the province and the commune People’s Council. He added that the office has also performed well in planning work to attract investors to deploy projects in the area, particularly those in renewable energy and tourism sectors.
In parallel with facilitating investment attraction, the commune continues to improve the business investment environment, accelerate administrative reform, especially regarding land procedures, and strengthen the application of information technology in handling administrative procedures to create favorable conditions for businesses and investors. During the first six months of the year, the commune People’s Committee resolved 48 administrative procedures related to business registration, including the issuance of 32 new business licenses.
Renewable energy is identified as one of the new growth drivers of Na Son commune. Recently, the locality has coordinated with specialized bodies and investors to survey multiple locations with potential for solar power and hydropower development, while concurrently organizing public consultations and environmental impact assessments for the projects.
In particular, the Điện Biên 1 Solar Power Plant Project received investment policy approval from the provincial People’s Committee in 2026. The project features a design capacity of 300MW and a total investment capital of over VND 5,371 billion, deployed across Điện Biên Phủ ward and Na Son, Muong Lan, and Pu Nhi communes, with construction expected to commence in the fourth quarter of 2026 and operation slated for late 2027.
Nguyễn Thanh Lâm, Vice Chairman of the Na Son commune People’s Committee, stated that the commune is currently coordinating with the investor and related units to conduct surveys, measurements, and ownership verifications to execute site clearance and hand over the site to the investor as soon as possible.
Thanks to synchronous solutions, many economic indicators of Na Son in the first six months of the year achieved positive results. The production value of industry and small handicrafts was estimated at VND 84.81 billion, while total retail sales of goods and service revenue reached VND 214.39 billion, fulfilling 57.44% of the set plan. Local budget revenue estimation for the first six months reached VND 105 billion, equal to 51.55% of the assigned estimate. In basic construction investment, the locality completed and put into use six works, while also coordinating with provincial departments, sectors, and investors to accelerate the progress of several key projects such as the Lọng Chuông and Bắng Chộc bridges.
In agricultural restructuring, coffee and macadamia plants continue to be identified as key crops. The total existing coffee area stands at over 90 ha. In 2026, the locality completed digging pits for 160 ha of new coffee cultivation. The total macadamia area in the area reached nearly 779 ha. The field of labor and employment continues to witness positive changes, with the rate of trained workers reaching 42.59% and new jobs created for 85 workers. The entire commune currently has 1,016 workers working outside the province or participating in labor export, contributing to generating stable income sources for many families.
Growth indicators in industry, trade-services, budget revenue, and investment attraction demonstrate positive signs, creating room for Na Son to realize its double-digit economic growth target in 2026. To execute the double-digit growth target in the remaining months of the year, Na Son commune continues to finalize its general planning leading up to 2045 as a basis for management and investment attraction.
It will also coordinate with provincial departments, sectors, and investors to accelerate the progress of the Điện Biên 1 Solar Power Plant Project, the Na Phát Hydropower Project, and the DT143 road route to Ho Cớ village, while focusing on developing key crops like coffee and macadamia, improving the business investment environment, and elevating the efficiency of resource utilization for socio-economic development.
With the firm determination to remove bottlenecks for investment projects and effectively exploit agricultural and renewable energy potentials, Na Son expects to create powerful new growth drivers, striving to complete its set socio-economic development goals for 2026.
