Điện Biên to host investment and tourism promotion conference in May

ĐBP - On the morning of March 24, Chairman of the Điện Biên provincial People’s Committee Lê Văn Lương presided over a meeting to discuss and provide feedback on the plan for the 2026 Điện Biên Investment and Tourism Promotion Conference.

Under the theme “Điện Biên - A Strategic Destination for Investment and Tourism Development,” the event is designed as an in-person gathering integrated with product exhibitions, promotional displays, and field surveys of projects calling for investment.

The conference is scheduled to span two days from May 5 to 6, 2026, featuring several major activities including an art program commemorating the 72nd anniversary of the Điện Biên Phủ Victory and the main promotion conference itself. Additionally, the province will invite investors to conduct field surveys of local projects and host the 2026 Vietnam Private Economic Forum, which focuses on institutional breakthroughs and public-private partnerships to conquer the era of national development. Organizers expect to welcome approximately 1,000 guests, including 600 official delegates and 400 service staff.

The primary goal of the conference is to showcase the province’s strengths and announce the list of investment projects according to the provincial Master Plan for the 2026-2030 period with a vision to 2050. These projects will focus on sectors aligned with the province’s development orientation, such as tourism services, urban trade, high-tech agriculture, processing industries, energy, technical infrastructure, and logistics.

By creating favorable conditions for enterprises to access these opportunities, Điện Biên aims to attract non-budget capital into high-potential fields to boost socio-economic growth and improve the province’s regional competitiveness and status.

During the meeting, delegates discussed the timing of the event and worked on a detailed script for each activity while assigning clear responsibilities to various units. The discussion also involved reviewing and selecting the list of projects intended for groundbreaking ceremonies or the granting of investment policy decisions.

Chairman Lê Văn Lương emphasized that the 2026 conference is a significant activity to promote the province’s investment environment and insisted that the organization must be cost-effective, practical, and highly efficient. He requested thorough preparation with a focus on core objectives and urged for diverse communication channels to broadcast Điện Biên as a friendly and attractive destination for both investors and tourists.
