The meeting was attended by the Standing Board of the provincial Party Committee and leaders from various provincial departments and agencies.
The provincial Investment, Trade, and Tourism Promotion Center was established under the Prime Minister’s Decision on September 12, 2025, and officially began its operations on January 10, 2026. The center consists of 35 staff members organized into four specialized departments: Tourism Promotion, Investment Promotion, Trade Promotion, and the Administrative Office.
After nearly two months of activity, the center has successfully formed an integrated and unified communication system across its three core promotional fields. The digital platform has been maintained and standardized, and communication content has transitioned from fragmented updates to theme-oriented programming aligned with the province’s key political tasks and major events. These initial results show a marked increase in public engagement, with the center’s social media fanpage now reaching over 48,000 followers, creating a solid foundation for a quantitative communication strategy in the future.
The center has already organized and managed a 200m2 booth at the Spring Fair held at the Vietnam Exhibition Center in Hanoi. It was also responsible for organizing the Bính Ngọ Spring Flower Street and the 2026 Điện Biên Spring Fair, which featured an elaborately designed new year mascot that became a highlight of the Lunar New Year, attracting numerous residents and tourists for photography and sightseeing. In terms of investment attraction, the center has been working with various investors to study and propose significant projects within the province. These include the Viettel - Điện Biên Logistics Center, a high-tech livestock and agricultural farm in Tuần Giáo, and a high-tech pig farm in Núa Ngam commune.
During the session, delegates discussed and contributed opinions to clarify achievements as well as the difficulties encountered during the implementation of these tasks. Based on these discussions, several specific solutions were proposed to enhance efficiency, such as refining support policies for trade and tourism, increasing the organization of international workshops, and strengthening local branding on the provincial e-portal.
Provincial Party Secretary Trần Tiến Dũng directed the center to actively advise on synchronous solutions to attract businesses and investors to explore opportunities and implement projects in the province. He emphasized that the center must closely follow provincial resolutions and action plans to concretize them into focused tasks. Furthermore, there is a clear need to improve support mechanisms for trade and tourism to be more practical and effective while accelerating administrative reform and digital transformation in promotional activities.
The center is encouraged to maintain close coordination with provincial departments and local media outlets, such as the Điện Biên provincial Newspaper, Radio and Television, to broadcast the potential, advantages, and unique destinations of the region. These efforts aim to showcase a dynamic and friendly Điện Biên that is rich in cooperation and development opportunities. Additionally, the leadership stressed the importance of professional training and staff development to meet the demands of their upcoming tasks.
