Agriculture, the pillar of the local economy, is being oriented toward high-tech and sustainable development linked to deep processing and value chain construction. Beyond local enterprises directly involved in production, many large investors from other regions have arrived to survey and seek cooperation opportunities. Notable examples include the macadamia processing plant project in Tuần Giáo, the development of the pineapple material area in Pú Nhung, or the high-tech agricultural complex in Chiềng Sinh, all of which demonstrate Điện Biên’s growing attraction in the agricultural sector. In the industrial field, the province continues to leverage the efficiency of existing hydropower plants while accelerating the progress of projects ready for construction. The provincial strategy prioritizes investors with capacity and experience, particularly in renewable energy and processing industries, with a commitment from local authorities to provide maximum support for project completion and operation.

To strongly improve the business environment in 2026, Điện Biên aims to cut administrative procedure processing time and compliance costs by at least 50% compared to 2024, following the spirit of the National Assembly’s resolution. This reduction is not merely about simplification but is tied to digital transformation and the effective use of digitized data to avoid requesting information from citizens and businesses multiple times. Furthermore, the province is resolute in preventing the emergence of impractical new procedures that burden investors.
