Through these efforts, the value of local products is gradually being raised, and their market position is increasingly being affirmed. Loan Nhẹ Trading and Service Co., Ltd, located in Điện Biên Phủ ward, is currently developing five product lines from cordyceps, two of which have achieved 3-star OCOP certification, thereby confirming their prestige and quality in the market. In addition to physical sales, the enterprise continues to perfect its digital ecosystem through its website and social media platforms while actively participating in trade promotion events within and outside the province to connect with distributors.
Nguyễn Thị Loan, representing the company, shared that since the beginning of 2026, the firm has participated in two major events, the Spring Fair and the 2026 Hoa Ban Festival. Engaging in these trade promotion programs helps connect businesses and expand the customer base. Following each event, order volumes have increased significantly, providing the motivation to maintain stable production and enhance product value. Thanks to this proactive approach, the unit’s products are now available in major cities such as Hà Nội, Hồ Chí Minh City, Quảng Ninh, and Hải Phòng, forming a stable and sustainable supply chain.
Recently, Điện Biên province’s authorities have intensified the organization of OCOP spaces within the framework of major festivals to broaden the channels for product introduction. At the 2026 Ban (Bauhinia) Flower Festival, the display area featuring 146 units from various localities across the country became a prominent highlight, attracting a large number of residents and tourists. The OCOP space of the province was richly arranged, gathering typical specialties such as tea, honey, coffee, macadamia, dried meat, and brocade. These booths were organized reasonably to facilitate visiting, experiencing, and shopping, making the festival an effective bridge for facilities to find partners and expand markets.
Participating in the 2026 Ban Flower Festival, the Thoa Doãn macadamia facility from Tuần Giáo commune brought 3-star OCOP products including dried macadamia, macadamia kernels, and nutritious macadamia sesame salt. Đoàn Quốc Việt, representing the facility, noted that during the festival days, product sales doubled or even tripled compared to normal days. More importantly, many customers proactively connected to place long-term orders, which the facility views as a golden opportunity to promote its brand directly to consumers from all regions.
Beyond mere promotion, production linked with consumption is being strongly implemented across various local areas. Tuần Giáo commune is a bright spot in proactively developing agriculture in this direction, currently boasting 16 recognized OCOP products, including two 4-star and 14 3-star products, mainly derived from its two key crops, macadamia and coffee. Notably, the locality has strengthened connections with businesses to form stable link chains. Recently, the commune signed a cooperation agreement with the Việt Bắc Coffee Import-Export Co., Ltd, in which the enterprise committed to purchasing all of the residents’ coffee until 2050 at market prices, with a minimum of VND 10,000 per kg. This represents a vital step in forming a concentrated raw material area and attracting investment for deep processing.
To date, Điện Biên has 157 OCOP products, comprising 152 3-star products and five 4-star products. Along with this, approximately 200 “farmer-cooperative-enterprise” link models have been formed and are beginning to show effectiveness. Trade promotion activities have been accelerated to bring these products to both domestic and international markets. Since 2025, the province has participated in notable programs such as the Border Trade Fair of Vietnam, Laos, and China, as well as the 2025 Tea Festival in Phongsaly, Laos.
Furthermore, a project is being implemented to support five enterprises and cooperatives in joining reputable e-commerce platforms. Despite these successes, the consumption of OCOP products still faces challenges such as small production scales and limited market access. In an increasingly competitive environment, consolidating value chain links and associating production with promotion will be the key solutions for Điện Biên’s OCOP products to grow sustainably and reach further into the market.
